The formation

• To become a social worker, you have to take the ‘’bacaleaureat’’.

• After school there are many ways to do it.

• You can follow a three year class in high school with medical options to pass the sixth form (A level)

• Or you can do it my way: Go to a vocational school and follow Health and Social Care for two years and continue to a specialised bacalaureat in social care for two more years

• After getting the bacalaureat, you have to take the entry exam as a candidate to get into the school. And three years later, you can become a social worker.

• The full training period is 1500 hours of theoretical classes and 15 months of a training period.

• There are different grants but the salary of the parents mustn’t be more than a certain level. There is also the AFR (Allowance for Professional Training).

The Work in itself

It’s a beautiful job, you are close to people that you take care of and your job is to make their life easier in every day life.

In this job, you can meet all kinds of people: Children, teenagers, adults and old people.

In fact, you are there to please them and make them have a good time all day long.
