Ronald Kolegraff MD FACS, Kyle Ver Steeg

MD , FACS and Niki Stall NP-C ,DCNP are the

providers at re*be® of Okoboji. Dr. Kolegraff is a

Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a

Diplomat of the American Board of Phlebology (Vein Specialist),

one of only a few that currently practice in Iowa. He has been

practicing in this area since 1987 as a General Surgeon. Dr.

Kolegraff’s hospital practice is now limited to short stay and

outpatient surgeries. Dr. Ver Steeg is a Board Certified Plastic

Surgeon as well as Board Certified in General Surgery and a

Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He provides the

full range of plastic and reconstructive procedures, breast im-

plants, tummy tucks and face lifts. Niki Stall is a Dermatology

Nurse Practitioner and provides a wide range of dermatology

evaluation and treatments. re*be® has a full complement of

cosmetic lasers and advanced treatment rooms.

Liposuction

Laser Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure used to remove areas of unwanted fat and to tighten the skin by gently heating it from the inside. The fat is

heated or melted and removed with suction. This causes an effect that in some way is similar to cooking bacon. The laser treated skin shrinks like the bacon does

when it is cooked. This helps tighten the extra skin that is left after the fat is removed. When compared to traditional liposuction, the use of the laser under local anes-

thesia results in considerably less blood loss, less pain and is less expense. Laser Liposuction is estimated at more than 1000 times safer than traditional liposuction.

The procedure is done in the office under local anesthesia and is usually very well tolerated.

drapes.

Your liposuction areas to be treated will be

prepped with an alcohol solution.

The skin will be numbed up with a small amount of

local anesthesia and then the fat will be numbed up

with the same medication.

The laser fiber will be inserted through the same tiny

holes used for the numbing medication and the fat

will be gently heated to the safe target temperature.

The fat will be sucked out again through the same

holes.

Sterile dressings and a light support garment will be

applied and you will go home.
