the motivations and specic interests o each age group. Here are the two options proposed.

The ESL-Teens programmes are aimed at students rom 13 to 17 years. Destined or older students, this option takes place either in residential centres or with

the option o host amily accommodation.

ESL-Juniors(8/10-14years)/summerLeysin, Westerwald

The ESL-Juniors programmes are destined or students o 8/10 to 14 years. Our young students benet rom specic supervision allowing or optimal care which is

adapted to their age. In the same way, the class times, activities and themed evening activities are adapted according to their needs and interests.

In the ESL residences, a pocket money service is proposed to the students.Functioning like a bank, the pocket money service is open every day, allowingor the deposit or withdrawal o money by the students.

In this way, in a pleasant andconvivial environment which meets your expectations, you will be able to takeull advantage o your language study stay. ESL has thereore selected theaccommodation options which best suit the requirements o young students.According to the region, our students can choose to stay in a residence or witha host amily. Whichever option you choose, you will be in an ideal situation topractise the language you are studying every day.

The ESL residencesLiving with young people o all nationalities, discovering various points o viewand making riends, residence accommodation allows you to have a veryenriching experience o community and international lie. According to thedestination, the students are accommodated in bedrooms with 1 to 4 bedswith other ESL students. The language classes, the majority o meals as well as

some o the activities take place within, or in the immediate surroundings o,the ESL campuses (residence + course centre). On request and depending onavailability, our students may be accommodated with a riend.

By car

Parents who wish to drive their children by car to the course venue arewelcome. Complete documentation with all o the necessary inormationwill be given to you prior to the stay. Please do not hesitate to contact us

The "ESL train station transer" service may be booked i you are travellingby train. Just like our "ESL airport transer", a member o the ESL teamwelcomes you at your arrival at the train station and drives you to yourdestination.

Bound or our course centre in Germany, an accompanying adult takescare o the students rom their departure at the train station in Lausanneuntil their arrival at ESL Westerwald. In this way, you will travel in a relaxedmanner, without worrying about the train changes to be carried out.

By bus

ESL organises bus transers rom the main cities in German-speaking

Switzerland, bound or the course centres located in French-speakingSwitzerland. This is a good opportunity to get to know some otherstudents beore the arrival at the course centre.

The supervision o our students is eective and discreet,adapted to the age-group and the type o accommodation booked. In this way, each student can gain maximum benet rom his/her stay in complete saety.

From the rst to the last day, the members o the ESL team are present and available to give the assistance requested by each student and to ensure their

necessary saety. In the ESL residences, a complete 24-hour sur veillance allows or optimal supervision. Students who choose ESL host amilies benet rom

more ree time in accordance with their parental authorisation. Emergency numbers, which are reachable on a 24/7 basis, are in service in each o the ESL

course centres.

ESL certicateAt the end o your stay, you receive an ESL certicate which attests to your participation in classes, validates

the language level reached and species the results obtained.

The ESL teachersOur teaching team is made up o young and dynamic teachers who teach in their native language. The ESL teachers

are chosen or their teaching talent, their enthusiasm and or the attention they know to give to each student. They

make every eort in order to create a relaxed, un and stimulating atmosphere. The topics o the lessons are as close

as can be to the interests o the students. Even during the extracurricular activities, the teachers encourage the

students to use the language being studied. This un and motivating teaching is the key to eective learning.

Courses adapted to your levelWhatever their level o skills in the language they are studying, our students take a course adapted to their level.

At the beginning o their stay, all o the ESL students sit an evaluation test, thanks to which each student is placed

in a class corresponding best to his/her level. Each week, a small evaluation allows the teacher to accurately ollow

up on the progress being made by each o his/her students.

The ESL classes take place rom Monday to Fri-

day. In each course venue, you have the choice

between a standard course and an intensive

course. I you choose the intensive course, you

benet rom an additional lesson per day, o-

cussed mainly on oral communication and the

development o common projects. The module o

25 lessons is ideal or gaining maximum benet

rom your group classes.

Optional courses

Conversation courses

This course includes two weekly lessons o 45

minutes. Thanks to game-related exercises in

various contexts (role plays, theatre, etc.), the

conversation course will allow you to develop

your ability to express yoursel in a more fuent

and natural way in various situations o everyday

lie.

Private courses

In order to make maximum progress, you can

choose the ESL private course programme. This

option allows you to benet rom an additional 5

lessons o 45 minutes per week in order to reach

your personal objectives.

A fascinating programme!

At ESL, we are convinced that a great programme

of activities is a key element to the success of a language

study stay. It is for this reason that, in all of our camps,

we propose a very complete and varied programme,

offering numerous exciting opportunities for sports,

encounters and leisure, which allow to create a warm

atmosphere, strengthen links of friendship betweenstudents and of course, greatly contribute to the practice

of the studied language.

And in order that each of our young clients may participate

in full security and that no one is left out, all of the

activities, organised and supervised by our teams of activity

coordinators, are entirely included in the price of the stay.

Included activities

SportsIn each o the course centres, a dozen or so varied sports, included in the programme, are proposed to students during their stay. On a daily basis,

several indoor or outdoor sports are organised and supervised by the ESL team. According to your preerences, you can, or example, choose between

beach volleyball, badminton, basketball, ootball, street hockey, swimming and table tennis, among others.

ExcursionsIn order to add a cultural dimension to the activities programme, ESL also proposes numerous excursions. They are organised each week in our

various course centres. In this way, in Switzerland, you visit, depending on the course venue, the medieval Chteau de Chillon, the Brissago Islands

or the tourist city o Lucerne. Contemplate Paris rom the top o the Eiel Tower or explore Monaco or the le Sainte-Marguerite on the Cte dAzur or

example. Westerwald proposes, among others, the Chocolate Museum in Cologne, or an incredible Sea lie centre, or even a crossing on the Rhine. Each

week, the discovery o the region in question takes place over a day and a hal which is dedicated to these excursions and which allow you to discover

the region. Your camera is a must!

EveningactivitiesThe evening activities organised by ESL are avourable moments during which you can practise your newly acquired language skills in a relaxed way.

Whether or cinema, barbecue or disco evenings, the ESL team in charge o organising the activities make every eort in order that you may make

memorable progress.

Training a specic sport!

Thanks to the sports packages, you can practise intensively the activity of your choice!

Whether tennis, sailing, horse riding, skiing/snowboarding, dance, downhill sports, football, golf or deep-sea diving,

take full advantage of your stay by taking part in one of our 11 optional packages. Organised and supervised by qualied

instructors, they are proposed as a supplement to the standard programme and do not encroach on the included multi-

activities programme, excursions or evening activities. Take advantage of your language study stay in Switzerland,

France or Germany in order to dedicate time to your favourite sport.

Horseriding

Are you passionate about horses and horse riding? Then this programme is made or you! Destined or participants

who wish to practise horse riding during their language study stay, this package oers the opportunity to ride three

aternoons per week. The horse riding lessons take place in riding schools and during horse rides. The renvers,

supporting rein and ooting changes will no longer be a secret to you!

Adrenaline

Hair-raising descents that are bursting with adrenaline, this is what this programme proposes to you! Your rst two

days o adventure take place at the handlebars o a mountain bike and a dirty scooter. Equipped with all the

protection you need, you develop your pilot skills on the specially prepared staggering slopes. And thats not all

sitting in a toboggan on a track, on a 3000m high glacier, you will tear down the slope at great speed, lying fat

along spectacular curves.

Dance

Do you have rhythm in your eet? Whether its an art, a sport or entertainment or you, this package provides you

with pleasure and well-being. Learn and improve the various dance techniques (hip hop, salsa, modern jazz, etc.)

and work towards the development o choreographies, guided by dance teachers.

For budding proessionals, we organise a ootball programme in the ESL centre in Germany. Thanks to the outdoor

Following the shrewd guidelines o a qualied trainer, improve your technique and vision o the game within inter-

national teams, made up o students rom the our corners o the world.

Thanks to the great 18-hole gol courses located in the area o our course centres, practise your swing, per ect your

shots and hone your strokes on the green, all in a postcard-like setting.

This programme, lead by proessional trainers, is destined or players o all levels, whatever their handicap.

Scubadiving

Do you have a longing or the deep blue depths o the ocean? Take advantage o your language study stay on the Cte

dAzur in order to discover deep-sea diving in complete saety. In a clear and glistening sea, discover the silent and

multicoloured ballet o the marine auna in the company o real underwater proessionals who will share their passion

with you. 3 options are proposed. They all include the hiring o the material, the theoretical and practical classes and

the exam ees, i it is the case.

Valbonne s/Cannes

Introduction to "SCUBA" diving 3 sessions/weekThis package is especially designed or beginners who wish to start with the basics o deep-sea diving. Following a theoretical introduction and practice

in the swimming pool, you will be able to embark on your rst diving session in the sea in the company o qualied instructors.

"SCUBA / CMAS 1" diving training 6 sessions/fortnightI you wish to push your experience urther, this package includes 6 technical diving sessions in the sea, up to a depth o 20 metres. An internationally

recognised ocial French certicate, "1er niveau de plonge" will be awarded to you at the end o the programme. This package is destined or

students staying or a minimum o 2 weeks in Valbonne s/Cannes. On request, the "2me niveau" certicate can also be taken.

"SCUBA / PADI 1" diving training 8 sessions/fortnightThe PADI training is the most recognised diving training programme in the world. In this way, you make your entrance into the world o diving by ollowing

the "Open Water Diver" training. 8 diving sessions in the sea up to a depth o 18 metres are run by qualied instructors. An international certicate

attesting to the level is awarded, allowing or the continuation o the training worldwide. On request, the exam or the 2nd level can also be prepared

and taken. This package is destined or students staying or a minimum o 2 weeks in Valbonne s/Cannes.

Ski/snowboard

An undisputed kingdom o seasoned skiiers and snowboarders, Leysin is one o the nicest ski resorts in the Swiss

Alps. Thanks to the "ski/snowboard" package, you will be ab le to combine your language classes with 3 aternoons

o snow sports under the supervision o ESL instructors. An ideal activity, perectly suited to this small corner o

white paradise. This ackage is reserved for students who have alread ractised skiing or

snowboarding. The material is not included in the price o the package.

Sailing

With the "sailing" package, you will be able to perect your skills in the basics o sailing a dinghy and the manuvres

and techniques o the operation o sails. The package is proposed as much to novices as experienced navigators

and supervision is assured by proessional instructors. The sessions take place in the aternoon, 3 times per week,

in the dream surroundings o Lake Geneva and Lake Maggiore. Whether in beam reach position or rigging the

Improve your language level as much as your serve ! The training sessions, the single or doubles matches and the

Our ESL "Le Central-Rsidence" course centre is located a stones throw away romthe main train station o Leysin. It possesses all o the comort suited to a successullanguage study stay in the Alps, including renovated classrooms, welcomingrestaurants, a beautiul sunny terrace, an indoor swimming pool, a tness room aswell as relaxation and games areas.

The bedrooms, modelled in a typically Alpine wooded and warm style, are equippedwith a television and a telephone, as well as a private bathroom.

8 Cancellation prior to commencement of the course

A contract partner may cancel his contract at any time prior to commencement o the

language course. In that event, ESL will be entitled to seek payment o appropriate

compensation, the amount o which will depend on the period o time remaining be-

tween the date on which ESL receives the cancellation and the date o commencement

o the language course. In accordance with this principle, the amount o compensation

is calculated as ollows:

56 days or more prior to the rst day o the language course:

10% o the total invoiced price

Between 55 and 30 days prior to the rst day o the language course:

20% o the total invoiced priceBetween 29 and 22 days prior to the rst day o the language course:


Between 21 and 15 days prior to the rst day o the language course:

Failure to participate in the course or cancellation ater the given deadlines:


The registration ees o CHF 110 / EUR 75 and the insurance costs will remain due.

The cancellation amount must be received at the latest 10 days ollowing receipt o the

cancellation invoice. In the event that a participant is reused a visa and the original

reusal document issued by the Swiss/German/French Embassy is supplied, ESL under-

takes to reimburse the whole amount paid, less an administration ee o CHF 150 / EUR

100 and bank charges o CHF 60 / EUR 40.

9 Cancellation insuranceESL recommends that contract partners take out a cancellation insurance policy. In the

event that the participant has taken out cancellation insurance and then cancels his course,

he will be responsible or notiying his insurers. Under no circumstances will a cancellation

insurance policy render ESL liable or non-reimbursement o a course. ESL oers cancellation

insurance, or which the charge is approximately 3% o the total invoiced amount, up to a

maximum o CHF 68 / EUR 50.

regulations governing the obtaining o a visa, and the health regulations required

to enter and stay in Switzerland/Germany/France. Under no circumstances will ESL

be held liable or any notice o reusal to enter or stay in Switzerland/Germany/France

given to a participant. Inormation relating to the regulations governing security, health

and obtaining a visa can be obtained rom the Swiss/German/French Embassy or Con-

sulate in the participants home country. No reimbursement will be made, either in

ull or in part, in the event that a participant is reused permission to enter or stay inSwitzerland/Germany/France by his own ault. ESL will provide a letter o invitation or

the visa application ollowing receipt o all the costs o the language course.

11 Accident/health insurance

Every participant will be entirely responsible or obtaining accident and health cover

valid or the country in which he intends to stay or the whole period o his stay. In

the event that he does not have such cover at the time o registration, ESL will include

an appropriate insurance policy covering these risks. For a course in Switzerland,

the cost o this cover is CHF 180 per month. For a course in France/Germany, the

cost o cover is EUR 39 per month or EU citizens, and EUR 79 per month or non-EU

nationals. This insurance will be invoiced with the reservation package and will cover

accidents and illness only.

12 Damage caused by participants / civil liability

Prior to arrival at ESL, each participant must take out a policy o insurance to cover any

loss/damage which he may cause during the course o his stay. In any event, and even

i a participant does not eel that it is appropriate or him to take out such insurance, hewill be liable or any losses caused to ESL, its commercial partners and any other third

party unless the liability o ESL can be clearly demonstrated.

13 Obligations of participants

Participants are required to attend the course and to arrive on time. They are respon-

sible or choosing a course which is appropriate or their level o capability. Failure to

attend the course, or irregular attendance, or any disruption to lessons caused by an

individual participants attitude will entitle ESL to expel the participant. ESL will not

reimburse or pay compensation or any part o the missed course or any additional

travel costs incurred.

14 Claims

In the event that a participant wishes to bring a claim, he must notiy the head o the

centre immediately. Any claim or compensation must be notied in writing to ESL

Montreux, and may not arrive more than our weeks ater the contractual termination

o the language course. Ater that time, any action taken by the contract partner will

be deemed to be null and void.15 Discipline

In the event that a participant is badly b ehaved, undisciplined, or demonstrates a poor

attitude ESL reserves the right to expel him immediately. In that event, ESL will not

reimburse or pay compensation or any part o the missed course or any additional

travel costs incurred.

16 C hanges affecting prices, dates or services

Until such time as a participant receives the conrmation o registration, ESL may

change the dates and prices o language courses published on the internet or any

other communication tools at any time. Following conrmation o registration between

ESL and the participant, ESL may change its programme o services, provided that the

changes are minor, unavoidable, based on good aith and do not in any way aect

the teaching services. In the event that the key services provided by ESL are aected

by major changes, participants may withdraw or apply to join a dierent course o the

same value, i ESL is in a position to provide this. ESL must notiy participants o any

changes immediately and participants must notiy ESL as soon as possible ater receipt

o such notication o their intention to exercise their rights.17 Minimum number of participants

In the event that it is not possible to achieve the minimum number o participants re-

quired or a language course (6 persons or a group course), ESL will notiy the contract

partner at least three weeks prior to the commencement o the course. I ESL is unable

to provide a replacement service, ESL will undertake to reimburse all ees paid to date.

Under no circumstances will ESL pay compensation or any inconvenience or loss o

time. In the event that none o the courses are appropriate or the participants level

o ability, ESL reserves the right to substitute the group course or private tuition. The

number o hours o private tuition will depend on the amount paid by the participant.

18 Transfer by coach

In the event that it is not possible to achieve the number o participants required to

organise transer by coach (a minimum o 12 persons), ESL reserves the right to cancel

the transer and will notiy the participant at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement

o the language course. In that event, ESL will reimburse the ull cost o the transer.

19 ActivitiesDepending on the weather conditions or other circumstances beyond the control o

ESL and its organisation, ESL reserves the right to cancel one or more o the scheduled

activities described in the brochure. In that event, ESL undertakes to substitute the

cancelled activities with others.

20 Cancellation of ESL courses

ESL reserves the right to cancel a language course or saety reasons as a conseq uence

o a strike, political unrest or or any other extraordinary reason. In that event, ESL

undertakes to reimburse all costs relating to the course. ESL reserves the right to retain

a certain amount to cover administration costs.

21 Liability

ESL will assume ull responsibility or the language courses oered and undertakes

to organise them eciently in accordance with its knowledge and experience in the

sector. Under no circumstances can ESL be held liable or any loss resulting rom illnes s,

accident or inconvenience caused by poor service provided by any agent appointed

by ESL. Neither will ESL be responsible or the loss o any valuables, personal items,money, etc. unless such losses were due to deliberate negligence on the part o ESL.

22 Safety and security

ESL is authorised to take all reasonable action as required to ensure the well-being and

good health o the participants. ESL is also entitled to take all necessary measures to provide

a participant with any appropriate medical care in the event o necessity. Any costs arising

rom such medical attention will be borne by the participant, or his legal representative i

he is a minor. A written release/authorisation signed by the legal representative will be

required in respect o certain sporting packages where risk is involved. Without such a

signed document, ESL reserves the right to reuse to allow the participant to take part in

certain sporting activities.

23 Protection of personal dat

Within ESL, personal data is only recorded in the event o a request or inormation,

oers or registration or a language course. In principle, external organisations and

individuals do not have access to the ESL database. Personal data is communicated in

order to reserve accommodation (host amily, hostel or hotel) or in response to a legaldemand. In certain cases, ESL may provide such inormation to competent authorities

(or example, to immigration authorities). Personal data is led and registered at ESL-

Montreux. In addition to such data being used to provide advice and inormation on

reservation procedures to the participant, they may be used to provide participants

with inormation about new ESL products.

24 Promotional material

ESL reserves the right to retain and use photographs either taken by or showing a

participant or promotional purposes. The same applies to anything produced by the

participant during the language course. This right will deemed to have lapsed i the

participant or his legal representative specically revoke this point in writing at the

time o registration.

25 Applicable law and jurisdiction

Swiss law will apply exclusively to the contractual relationship between ESL and the

participant. Jurisdiction will lie with the courts o Montreux (Switzerland). The general

terms and conditions o sale will not, under any circumstances, limit the laws ap-plicable to the contract partner.

1 Registration and conrmation

All registrations received by ESL Education S.A. (ESL) by post, e-mail, ax or telephone

will be deemed to be valid. Registration will be conrmed within a maximum o 10

working days ollowing receipt o a valid registration. The contract will be deemed to

be nalised as soon as ESL has conrmed the registration, and will then be legally en-

orceable. Where the registered person is an adult, that person will become a contractpartner o ESL. Where the registered person is not an adult, his/her legal representative

will become the contract partner o ESL. In that event, the legal representative must

sign the contract and give his exact address. The person who is contractually registered

to a language course will become a participant, designated as such below. The person

who signs the contract (either the person hims el or, where the person is a minor, his le-

gal representative) will be identied as a contract partner, designated as such below.

2 Information supplied at the time of registration

The contract partner expressly declares that the inormation provided at the time o

registration or a language course is true and accurate. Any inaccurate inormation or

omission may lead to immediate expulsion rom the course (or example, i a complete

beginner overestimates his level o linguistic ability in order to be able to start a course

on a date other than the ocial commencement date or complete beginners). In that

event, the costs o the course will not be reundable, either in whole or in part.

3 Registration fee

ESL will charge the ollowing registration ee or each registration: CHF 110 / EUR 75.These ees are non-reundable. In the event o late registration, rom two weeks ater

commencement o the language course, the participant will be charged an express

processing ee o CHF 50 / EUR 35.

4 Contract variation fee

In the event that a participant wishes the type o course or accommodation conditions

to be varied ollowing conrmation o registration by ESL, a variation ee o CHF 80

/ EUR 55 will be charged and will be payable with the request or variation. No ad-

ditional charge will be made i the participant decides to extend his language course

at the same centre.

5 Conditions of payment

Fees will become payable immediately on receipt o conrmation o registration as

ollows:

- a deposit o CHF 250 / EUR 170.

- the registration ee o CHF 110 / EUR 75 (not included in the cost o the language

course).- payment o the premium or the cancellation insurance and/or the [accident/]health

insurance (where policies have been taken out).

The balance o the total ees must be paid at least our weeks prior to commencement

o the language course. In the event that ESL receives a registration less than our

weeks prior to commencement o the language course, the ull amount must be paid

on receipt o the invoice. Neither the course nor the accommodation will be deemed

to have been paid or unless the relevant amount has been received into the account

details o which will be provided by ESL upon conrmation o registration.

6 Payment period

The contract partner will be held liable in the event that the payment periods specied

by ESL in the conrmation are not complied with. In such circumstances, ESL reserves

the right to reuse entry to the course. No claims will be accepted by ESL.

7 Proof of payment

Participants may be asked to provide documentary proo o payment o the ull ee or

their course and accommodation either beore or on commencement o the languagecourse. Failure to do so may me an that entry to both the course and the accommoda-

tion will be reused. In the case o late registrations, ESL will ask or proo beore

sending the pre-arrival documentation.
