Langley Castle CeremoniesNotes for guidance and conditions of Civil Ceremonies at Langley Castle

1. Couples wishing to be married at Langley Castle are still required to give Notice of Marriage to the Superintendent Registrar at the registration district in which they live.

2. NoconfirmationofareservationoftheMarriageRoom,foracivilceremonycan be given, unless the local Superintendent Registrar has given an assurancethatstafftoconducttheceremonywillbeavailable.

3. The Registration and Marriage Acts require that all civil marriages are celebrated by a Superintendent Registrar and registered by a Registrar of Marriages. The individuals concerned will be responsible for booking and forpayingthefeesfortheattendanceoftheseregistrationstaff.LangleyCastle will not be responsible for providing anyone to conduct a civil marriage ceremony.

4. Any readings, music or performance, which forms part of the civil marriage ceremony, are secular in nature (no religious content). For this purpose and reading or music, played by way of an introduction to, in any interval between parts of, or as a conclusion, shall be treated as forming part of the ceremony.

5. No food or drink may be served or consumed in the room where the ceremony takes place, for one hour prior to the ceremony or during the ceremony itself.

6. Full access for the general public must be allowed, to any civil marriage which is solemnised at Langley Castle.

7. The arrangements and the content for each civil marriage must meet with the approval of the Superintendent Registrar.

8. The areas approved for the celebration of Civil Marriages at Langley Castle are the Drawing Room, Josephine Restaurant and the outdoor Gazebo. The number of persons attending Civil Ceremonies will determine the room that will be used. For numbers more than 40, the ceremony room will be the Josephine Restaurant.

9. Ceremonies will be available in the Gazebo, on the front lawn, from April to Septemberinclusive,weatherpermitting.Thefinaldecisionastowhetherthe ceremony will take place in the Gazebo, will be taken on the day, two hours prior to the ceremony, by the Management of Langley Castle Hotel. If the weather is unfavourable on the day of the ceremony, it will take place in either the Drawing Room or the Josephine Restaurant.

10. The charge for a civil ceremony at the castle, on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday is £975.00. On any other day of the week, with the exception of bank holidays, the charge will be £495.00. (These fees do not include the fees due to the Registrars).

11. A civil ceremony is not permitted to be held on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

Residential Wedding

For Wedding Parties of up to 40 persons, and where guests are substantially resident (i.e. 80%) at Langley, we are able to accommodate your party, and give you the WOW day you are looking for.

Parties less than 28 can take evening Dinner in the Pavilion Restaurant from 6.30pm or over 28 this can be held in the Stuart Suite Speeches and cake cutting can commence prior to dining.

Menus will be selected from the main Banqueting Menus. You can select a three or four course menu, or let Chef prepare you a seven course “taster” menu, specificallytailoredtoyourrequirements.

Celebrationswillfinishatmidnightwithnon-residential guests departing by 12.30am.

(This will is available Monday through to Thursday, and with 80% of the guests staying residentially).

NB. If entertainment is required the bridal party must guarantee reserving all rooms in the main Castle, due to noise disturbance.
