Things to think about, look for and use:
• Start with simple forms and shapes - trees, bushes, clouds, etc.
• Tones: dark, light and in-between shades.
• Composition: observe how objects are arranged

Things to think about, look for and use:
• Colour mixing: mix a lot, vary greens, use underpainting, and try not to use paint straight out of tube.
• Texture: use large brush strokes first and smaller ones later. Use palette knives, rags and other tools to make varied textures.
