Virgin Holidays is the UK’s favourite worldwide holiday company. Founded in 1985 on the Virgin principles of excellent customer service, value, reliability, responsibility and a sense of fun, it has used its entrepreneurial heritage and passion for innovation to benefit customers and communities around the world.

The brand is particularly known for the ‘magic touches’ it has brought to market. From the world’s first dedicated airport leisure lounges to the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship in the Caribbean, Virgin Holidays puts its customers and the communities it works with at the heart of its commitment to do things differently.

In 2015, it was voted Best Holiday Company for Weddings and Honeymoons. Also Best Holiday Company to the USA, Caribbean and Bermuda at the prestigious, consumer-voted, British Travel Awards.

In 2015, it became the first ever Tour Operator to go 100% direct for customers through its Retail, Online and Customer Centre channels.

A new flagship concept has successfully launched in 5 locations with a further 4 planned for 2016. This has incorporated market leading innovation, creating a relaxed environment to inspire customers, providing further differentiation within the market.

OUR RETAIL BACKGROUND• First concession opened in December 2007 within

Debenhams Guildford

• January 2010 saw Virgin Holidays first Pop-up Store within Westfield London, which supported the “On Tour RockStar Service” brand campaign. Following this success a further 10 Pop-up Shops were invested in for key campaigns and events

• The Retail Network has tripled in size since 2010 to 100 locations

• Differentiation has been delivered in the market place with a number of concepts tested and delivered, including the Holiday Laboratory concept opened in June 2013. This took high street retailing to a new level of inspiration, allowing education and play at Meadow Hall and Bluewater

• In 2015, following the decision to be the first 100% direct tour operator, opened the flagship stand alone stores in Bluewater, Metro Centre, Lakeside, Leeds Trinity and Bristol Cribbs Causeway

• The flagship stand alone stores have been introduced in 5 locations so far

• Locations are defined by turnover, economic climate of the town and potential annual spend from residents and workers

• Virgin Holidays “Go-North” strategy opened stores in key regional flying hubs such as Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh

Our Flagship Concept

The Virgin Holidays flagship concept reinvents the high street holiday retail experience. An inviting lounge environment offers the perfect place to relax away from shopping to fully enjoy the holiday experience at the time of planning or purchase.

The flagship provides staff and customers with a multi-layered retail experience, where customers can partake in a number of interactive experiences that help them to imagine the destinations they are interested in – delivering ‘that holiday feeling’ from the start.

VHols team members have no fixed positions, allowing customers to tailor their experience, from sitting in an Upper Class Virgin Atlantic aeroplane seat, sipping champagne at the island bar or relaxing in a luxurious booth.

The stores work to showcase the high level of service and knowledge the VHols staff bring, with everything at hand to demonstrate those little extras that Virgin Holidays have always been known for.

This is a quality, comfortable environment with exciting moments to evoke the senses and transport customers to their dream holiday destination before even stepping foot on an aeroplane.

VIRGIN REALITYCustomers are able to experience a holiday before they

book it with Google Cardboard, which creates a virtual reality headset using a smartphone and show customers footage of the Riveria Maya and Disney World Florida.

Wonderlist is an end-to-end personalised customer service, with specially trained ‘Wonderlisters’ providing dedicated one-to-one service. The Wonderlisters will provide our Wonderlist customers with 1-2-1 intuitive service from start to finish, ensuring their every need is taken care of.

Wonderlist has its own dedicated web pages which features inspirational brochure content. Wonderlist is only bookable in retail stores as a key element of a Wonderlist holidays is the end to end personalised service. This is a clear example of how we bring the characteristics of a true luxury holiday to our premium audience. It allows us to customise the holidays and add on the exclusive experiences that separates it from a normal Virgin Holiday. Currently, this is not possible if customers book online.

rom the moment you set your heart on a Wonderlist experience, you’ll be placed in the hands of your very own Wonderlister. In the world of holiday planning these guys and girls are virtuosos, and their sole focus is on providing a glitch-free and glorious experience that will go

straight into your happy memories hall of fame.

Once you’ve been introduced to your personal Wonderlister, you’ll have a direct-dial number to make planning a snap. Your Wonderlister will come to know the details of your upcoming adventure/honeymoon/retirement blowout as intimately as you. Through conversations, you’ll refine your Wonderlist experience together and, being the craftsmen and women they are, your Wonderlister will make suggestions to tailor the trip to how you like to travel

and relax.

Glamour guru, relaxation expert, indulgence ninja, Susan - however you come to think of your Wonderlister, they’ll work tirelessly to make sure you have the holiday of a lifetime. After all, it’s not just the destinations that put the

wonder in Wonderlist.
