The Conference Venue

The 2015 Landlord Law Conference will be taking place at Homerton College in Cambridge

Situated in 20 acres of parkland and about 20 minutes walk from Cambridge Station (with its excellent connections and direct line to London), the college also has extensive on site parking.

Tessa will open the conference with a general introduction and review of the past year.

Solicitor, partner at Anthony Gold solicitors and always one of our most popular speakers

This year David will be doing two talks:

• The new law on section 21 notices (David was the solicitor in the case) and• HMO prosecutions

Sue LukesA well known and highly respected expert and trainer on housing eligibility and immigration issues,

Sue will be talking about landlords’ and letting agents’ forthcoming legal obligations under the Immigration Act 2014.

Simon ParrottSolicitor and partner at Sharman Law solicitors, Simon is another conference regular.

This time he will be talking about protected tenancies and the Rent Act 1977 – which despite the fact that it was replaced by the Housing Act over 25 years ago, still regulates thousands of tenancies today.

Mike MorganHead of Adjudication at lead sponsors TDS, Mike’s talks are always popular.

This time he will be focusing on inventories (arguably necessary for ALL tenancies) and, of course, discussing adjudications and giving advice

Warren Spencer

A new speaker for Conference 2015, solicitor Warren Spencer is a well known fire safety expert.

An important topic for landlords, he will be talking about landlords obligations regarding fire safety, and what precautions you should be taking at your properties

Robert Brown

Robert is a barrister from specialist housing law Arden Chambers.

He will be talking at Conference about utilities – gas, electricity, water supply and energy efficiency and considering landlords legal obligations. An important topic

Paul ShamplinaFounder of Landlord Action, Paul Shamplina is a well known legal figure and expert on eviction issues

In this talk, Paul will be giving us the benefit of his wide experience in eviction work and advising on common problems and pitfalls
