The Problem After many wars, people

have left thousands of landmines everywhere

Nearly 40,000 people have suffered from injuries since 1979

There is an estimated 4 to 6 million unexplored mines still out there

At this rate, it will take 100 years to clear all the mines in Cambodia

Also it will take an estimated 1,100 years to clear all the mines in the world

What They Are Doing to Stop Landmines

UNICEF assists in mine awareness programs for children

UNICEF is also putting pressure on companies that manufacture Landmines to stop the production

The UN is working together with other organizations to remove landmines from the ground
