Who We AreLatin America Assistance is a non-denominational, 501(c)3 para church organization. Our vision is to see the youth of Latin America transformed by the powerful

Gospel of Jesus Christ, fostering positive spiritual, social & cultural change within their countries. Our

administrative base is in the United States and works with North American churches, individuals, Christian Colleges & Universities, and foundations to partner in funding the

development of our camping ministry as well as participating in our ministry through: short term sponsor,

work, or outreach missions. Our Latin American ministry, La Montaña Christian Camps, a self-sustaining separate legal entity in Costa Rica, works with the local church,

and has partnered with pastors throughout Latin America to help develop a successful model of spreading the

gospel to youth through Christ-centered adventure camping.

Our Mission

Latin America Assistance’s (LAMA) passion and mission focus is to reach the vast & growing number of youth throughout the Spanish-speaking world with the transforming message of Jesus Christ.

La Montana Christian Camps, LAMA’s Camping Ministry, sits on a 650-acre cloud forest property bordering the Tilaran Mountain Range in central Costa Rica. This extraordinary property was donated to LAMA in 1998 for the purpose of developing a state-of-the-art camping facility that would attract youth from all over Latin America.

As an evangelistic, high impact adventure camp, our strategy and vision is to work with teenagers 12-19 years old to win and disciple them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Through a variety of recreational activities: ropes courses, climbing walls, ponds, playing fields, an in-line skating rink, we meet the physical and relational needs of today’s teen. This high-energy curriculum enables us to effectively use the morning and evening chapel times, employing all the technological tools at our disposal to communicate God’s love and plan for each camper’s life. And the best part of the La Montaña Ministry is that we work through local churches so that every decision made at camp has an opportunity for follow-up and discipleship!

Since its inauguration in 2001 more than 80,000 teens have come through our program and thousands have committed their lives to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Our camp motto is:

We don’t Want to Stop...We desire to expand our reach beyond Costa Rica to neighboring countries in Latin America. As with most Latin Countries, which are comprised of 60-70% young people under the age of 15, our 20/20 Vision seeks to impact the youth of a continent with the life transforming message of Jesus Christ.

• As of August 2012, 80,000 teens have come through our La Montaña Christian Camp ministry in Costa Rica and thousands have committed their lives to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

• LAMA funded and developed vision La M o n t a ñ a C a m p f a c i l i t i e s t o accommodate 300 campers + staff at in 2004-2007 & 500 campers + staff at in 2007-2011.

• LAMA is currently working to design and Launch a Cuba Evangelistic Camp. and expand our camping ministry to Honduras, Nicaragua, and beyond!
