•Curriculum is divided into trimester areas of study.

•Students study and learn with students from other grade

levels.

•Trimesters are called “streams,” homeroom is called TOR- short

for teacher of record, and grades are given on a 1-5 scale.

•Students attend BBMS from all over the county.

At the end of their eighth grade year, students spend a trimester in a stream called IMPACT, which is what I am teaching now. The stream premise is that “we all

have a personal and civic responsibility to make an impact on the world in which we live.”

Private Victory

Students created a collage to demonstrate their personal mission statement as an IMPACT assignment.

Service learning projectMy class is the physical and mental health simulation group.

Students are: working on songs to sing at a children’s hospital, collecting money to add a suicide hot line, presenting

a drug and alcohol awareness seminar at lunch, and a “Nutrition Rocks” field day during physical education one day.
