LOCATIONThe school is located in Sea Point, a trendy suburb along the Atlantic coast. The suburb contains a wide array of different cultures and personalities.

Price includes accompanied transfer to and from Cape Town International Airport with the arrival and departure times listed in the Price List or group quote. Transfers outside of these times and dates are subject to an additional cost.

Transfers may involve a waiting time of up to one hour after students have cleared immigration.

ON-SITE RESIDENCE• Staff supervision (24 hours)

• 4-bedded rooms and shared bathrooms (en-suite rooms available on request)

• Some rooms may be bunk beds

• Advance allocation requests available on request, it cannot be guaranteed

SECURITY, DEPOSIT & KEYS• Student ID card prpvided on arrival

• Young Learner arm band provided on arrival

• Damage Deposit of $90 or €80 on arrival

• This will be returned to the student only upon departure

CATERING• Full-board accommodation (breakfast, hot lunch

and dinner)

• A cold packed lunch is provided in replacement of the hot lunch by the school for full day activities and Robben Island Tour

LAUNDRY• Laundry is not available on-site, but there are two

laundromats less than 5 minutes on foot from the campus.

• N.B. LAL takes no responsibility for any damage, shrinkage or colour run to clothing

WELFARE INFORMATION• Curfew time is 22.00 for all students

• Students are not allowed out without adult supervision unless they are in a group of 3 or more and aged minimum 15.

• Bed linen and towels are provided

• Students keep their pocket money and passports are stored in the school safe

• LAL Welfare Form required (see download section on our website)

• N.B. LAL Cape Town is not responsible for the loss or theft of students’ property. Students are advised to NOT bring laptops, tablets or other expensive items. Valuable items can always be left at the school.

TOWNSHIP TOUR & DINNER AT MZANSI AFRICAN RESTAURANT Visit the various townships of Cape Town and learn about some of the after effects of Apartheid. Afterwards go for dinner at a South African restaurant and enjoy some local dishes. This excursion is approximately 8 hours of which up to 1 hour is travel time.

V&A WATERFRONTEnjoy an evening on the water’s edge, with shops, restaurants, cinemas, live artists, music, rides and shows, there is plenty to see and discover. Dinner at a local restaurant included. This excursion is approximately 4 hours of which up to 15 minutes is travel time.

CAPE PENINSULA A drive along False Bay coastline, stopping at Boulders Beach to see the African penguins in their natural habitat. Next we visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. The day ends with a drive along the coastal road of Chapman’s Peak. Packed meal included. Up to 3.5 hours is travel time.

CHEETAH SANCTUARY & LION PARK Interact with the fastest land mammal at the Cheetah Outreach Centre, then learn about the king of cats at the Lion Park. Afterwards journey into the beautiful towns of Stellenbosch and Franschoek.Packed meal included. This excursion is approximately 8 hours of which up to 2 hours is travel time.

TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM Home to over 3000 oceanic species from both the Indian and Atlantic oceans. It houses a variety of ocean life including sharks, turtles, penguins and seals.This is excursion is approximately 4 hours of which up to 15 minutes is travel time. Tour departs at 13:00 after lunch at school.

LASER TAG Enjoy a fun playful game of laser tag with your friends. Play in a team or as an individual and see who scores the highest. This evening excursion is approximately 4 hours of which up to 1 hour is travel time.

CITY TOUR Visit the historical centre of Cape Town where students will see the various influences which marked the development of the Cape. This excursion is approximately 5 hours of which up to 30 minutes is travel time. Tour departs at 13:00 after lunch, you will be home for dinner

CANAL WALK MALLVisit the largest shopping mall in Cape Town with over 400 shops, breath taking architecture and spacious malls; making shopping both comfortable and stylish.This excursion is approximately 5 hours of which up to 40 minutes is travel time.

ICE SKATING Featuring an Olympic-size skating rink, the Ice Station at Grand West Family Entertainment Centre is home to action-packed adventure With bright lights and contemporary music adding to a festive vibe. This excursion is approximately 4 hours of which up to 1 hour is travel time.

OSTRICH FARM & BLOUBERG BEACH The first stop is at the West Coast Ostrich Farm, home to a variety of birds including the emu, rhea and peacock. Then visit Blouberg beach for the option to join in a variety of activities such as surfing, kite-surfing and kite flying.This excursion is approximately 5 hours.

TRAMPOLINE PARKRush is an indoor extreme Trampoline Park with 1500 square meters of adventure, fun and challenges. It features wall to wall trampolines, dodge-ball courts, basketball hoops, battle beam and a 4 meter performance wall.This evening excursion is approximately 3 hours of which up to 30 minutes is travel time. The tour will depart after dinner.

ROBBEN ISLAND Visit the former prison of international statesman and national hero, Nelson Mandela. This former jail of isolation has been transformed into a museum as a reminder of the atrocities of Apartheid. Packed lunch included. This excursion is approximately 5 hours of which up to 1 hour is travel time.

DJEMBE DRUMMING The djembe drum has a great cultural heritage in Africa . It is the drum of the Mandinka people and it origins back to the great Malian Empire of the 12th century. Now found all over the world the djembe is the most popular African drum. This evening excursion is approximately 3 hours of which up to 30 minutes is travel time.

TABLE MOUNTAIN One of the seven wonders of the world, Table Mountain. This iconic symbol, which imposes itself on the Cape Town landscape, can be seen from all over Cape Town. This excursion is approximately 4 hours of which up to 1 hour is travel time.

KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDENS The only botanical garden in the world which is inside a natural World Heritage Site. It conserves and displays the extraordinarily rich and diverse flora of all varieties of southern Africa.This excursion is approximately 4 hours of which 1 hour is travel time.

COOL RUNNINGSSpeed down a hill in a sled alone or with a friend, going up to maximum speeds of 40km per hour. This excursion is approximately 5 hours of which up to 1 hour is travel time. Tour will depart at 13:00 after lunch

This excursion is full day of which up to 5 hours is travel time. The excursion will take place any free day as the programme allows.
