The History of St. Patrick’s Day St Patrick’s Day is a widely recognized holiday around the world that is celebrated annually on March 17th, the traditional death day of St. Patrick, according to History.com. The Holiday is also known as “Feast of Saint Patrick” and is held in remembrance of St Patrick, one of Ireland's patron saints. Saint Patrick was a Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland who is generally credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. St. Patrick’s Day was made an official Christian feast day by the Catholic Church and Church of Ireland, Lutheran Church, and the Eastern Orthodox Church in the 17th century. The Holiday was brought shortly after to the Boston area of the United States by Irish American immigrants and is still widely celebrated today. This winter has been a cold and snowy winter thus far and while I am happy for the moisture that the snow is bringing, I am looking forward to the beautiful colors of spring. I am anxious to have a little bit of warmer weather to be able to plant some flowers and vegetables in our garden as well as have many of our activities outside to enjoy the sunshine. Looking Forward to Spring
As I am a Colorado native, I have always lovedeach of the seasons of the year.
