LAKE TRASK TIMBER TRAILS ASSOCIATION Open Board Meeting

March 17, 2018

Present: Patty Boyd, Greta Chehrehgosha, Donna Pfingston, Tim Kramer, Jason Moberg, John Tannehill.

Absent: Dee Clark, Steve Remeto, Greg Thomas -

The meeting was called to order at 10:02 am.

President Patty Boyd asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the last Open Board meeting. Hearing none, Patty asked for a motion to accept the minutes. Jason Moberg made the Mo-tion to accept the minutes as read. Tim Kramer seconded, with 6 - Yes votes and 0 - No votes motion car-ried.

Park Operations: Gary Dail gave report. Thank you to Andrew and Jake Oberholtzer and Jason Moberg and Jason Peterson for installing the new floats on the small fishing dock. Green Diamond will begin logging on the entry road this Wednesday. Please be cautious when driving to the gate. Green Diamond will repair the road when they are finished logging the area.

There were 134 water valves that have leaked since being installed and the company that installed them has replaced all the valves throughout the park. Three have failed since being replaced. Our warranty will be up in December. We will have a meeting with Don Hawks, US Electric and Bill Blaylock to get this settled. Bill Bell (D2-02 & 06) asked which valve are you talking about? Gary said the underground backflow valve. Gary checks the water output every morning, and if there is excess output, they go looking for the problem. So far there have been 159 dead trees cut down.

Reminder to Rangers to seal the logs that are peeled for use in the park. Leaving the bark intact encour-ages bugs and rot.

Treasurer's report: Greta Chehrehgosha gave report. Greta read a list consisting of twenty three (23) sites that need to be suspended as they are behind in their accounts. Greta made 23 separate motions to suspend this member until they are financially caught up. Motions made by Greta Chehrehgosha, and Jason Moberg seconded all 23 motions... With six (6) YES votes and 0 NO votes, for each motion, all motions car-ried.

Audit committee: Don Brewer gave report. Everything is on schedule.

By-Laws: Donna Pfingston gave report. The proposed new By-laws are in the March newsletter, along with absentee and proxy ballots. Absentee and proxy ballots must be in the office the day before the Annual meeting to be valid.

Building and Grounds: Jason Moberg gave report. Site inspections were done throughout the park on March 10. Letters will be going out to members whose sites need attention.

Karen Jennings (C3- 20 & 22) asked what happens if they do not clean up their sites? Patty said letters go out with pictures of items that need to be cleaned up. There is a new by-law proposed that would cover charging a fee if park has to clean the sites. All 7 of the restrooms with roof issues have been finished.

Site Sales: Jason Moberg gave report. A couple of association sites are being cleaned up this weekend. Patty Boyd asks would it be beneficial for us to have a “feedback” form regarding issues on sites? Jake Oberholtzer (E2-06) says curb appeal wouldn’t hurt. We can also ask for feedback from potential buyers.

Fish & Lake: John Tannehill gave report. There will be a fish dump next week and the BIG fish will be planted the week after that. There will be a Silly Hat Contest again this year at the Fishing Derby. Darlene Dail (D1-2 & 4) asked when will the lake be closed? This Monday, March 19. John can put this on Face-book. Greta asks for donated items with camping theme for the small raffle. The big raffle will be two Adi-rondack rocking chairs and a propane fire pit. The coffee will be on at 5:00 am on Derby Sunday, with the Fisherman's Breakfast beginning at 7:00 am. Come and get the fluffiest pancakes this side of anywhere!

We will be putting on the Kids Fishing Rodeo on May 27th. There will be a bigger net this year and we are making the age limit 12 years old and younger. Get your little ones poles ready, set and go fish!

Fire & Safety: Jason Moberg gave report. We need fire hoses at least 50 feet long with a 2” screw-on connection. We have 28 hydrants in the park.

We have a bid for installing new gutters on the lodge. Jake Oberholtzer is concerned about the pine nee-dles; will there be a guard on the gutters? We can install that later. Jason Moberg made motion to accept bid from All Around to put gutters on the lodge. Greta Chehrehgosha seconded. With 6 - YES votes and 0 - NO votes, motion carried.

Step right up! There will be a Carnival planning meeting at 12:30 in the lodge today. Bill and Fatty will once again be our grill masters, Greta Chehrehgosha will be running the raffles and Karen Jennings will be doing the kids games. It promises to be a grand time for all!

Patty explained the procedures for the suspension appeal requested by a member. There will be a different agenda for that meeting; the reports will be at the end so voting can take place. Statements from both sides are in the March newsletter, along with absentee and proxy ballots.

Karen Jennings says her husband John wants to know why there is a $100.00 fee for black water holding tanks? It is an application fee and is nonrefundable.

Meeting adjourned at 11:05 am.

Hi There!, to all the Lake Trask Community and all of us who love camping, the outdoors and fun. I want to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about, myself and our Kids Day and Carnival, we have on Labor Day Weekend, this year September 2. My name is Karen Jennings and my husband is Jon, who helps with all the BBQ’s and Breakfasts, we have two lots on Blackberry with our two wiener dogs Katie and Masie. We purchased three months before the lake closed for the up-grades to the power and the water. We are thrilled the lake has turned out so beautiful. We love the lake and live on a great loop. I am also our loop repre-sentative. I believe in community and was brought up that we give back to our community more than we take. To help keep it safe, clean, and to know and help your neighbors. What a great thing to teach our children. I’ve been involved in our local churches Harvest Festival for several years doing the same thing and with our Vacation Bible School, and I am now helping here at the lake with Kids Carnival. This year I wanted to let you know I am looking for volunteers now, to help get ready for the carnival. There are several changes this year from the past. We have 28 game booths and or events planned and I am looking for those who like to have fun, to decorate that morning and to watch the games for a few hours on the 2nd. There is a booth decorating contest, winner dinner for two in Shelton gift certificate. There will be several family games and activities. The prices for some of the games have gone up, but again some are free. For those games that cost a bit more, the prizes are a step up as well. We are bringing back our jail, adding a new selfie photo booth, water balloon fun games and will have a fire truck in front of the lodge by the jail. We have a tug of war planned. If you are planning on this event, sign up is now. Contact me. We have a paddle boat race planned, again, sign up is now. Contact me. The dunk tank is back, cotton candy popcorn, and our BBQ with the great Fries that only Bill Von Essen can make this way. Children's Parade. Dress your dog, your bike, your wagon. Winner 1-2-3- prize, but all will get something. Register now. Starts at 10:30 pool to lodge. Pie Eating Contest, not how much, how fast. Register now, contact me. I need someone to also make a commitment to sell ice cream from the snack shack. Contact me now at E-mail: [email protected] This will be a great day for the entire family not just the kids. There will be much going on. To make this a great day, we need your help. It will only be as good as those who are willing to help make this a great time for the kids before they go back to school. This is an old fashioned kids carnival. To work in a booth you need to be 18 or over. There are things for the teens to do as well as the little ones. If you are want to work a booth with a parent you can be 16-17 as well. But someone 18 or older needs to be in the booth at all times. Please contact me and let me know which booth you want to do. Remember, decorating and working it. Lets make this a great day for our kids before they go back to school. Thank you, Karen Jennings

Every September we have our year end carnival. This year member Karen Jennings has stepped up to run the carnival (thank you very much Karen). She is working hard creating new game and actives, but she can not do it with our

volunteers. The following is a letter from Karen, introducing herself and sharing many her thoughts and ideas for our carnival.

ATTENTION MEMBERS:

THEFT OF ELECTRIC IS IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP UNTIL FURTHER INVESTIGATION IS COMPLETED.

Park Operations:

Make sure if you are doing any building or structure work on your site make sure you have submitted a building permit and a Green Construction permit posted on your site before you start.

If you have any dead trees on your site please mark them and make out a work order letting me know where they are so I can get the logger out to get the trees cut down.

Lake Trask is no longer taking trailers from members to dispose of them as we no longer have an outlet to get rid of them.

When you go fishing and you catch a fish with a tag on it please come to the office and let us know what the number on the tag is as we had 15 big fish tagged for the derby and only one tagged fish was caught in the derby.

A reminder tailgating in and out the gate is not allowed this is a $100 fine we are starting to get busy and it is important that you follow the rules as we are watching for violations.

When you come up to the entrance gate and a car is going thru don’t get close to them as there is a monitor in the ground that senses the vehicle going thru the gate and if you are to close to them the sensor will think it is the same vehicle going thru the gate and will not close until is senses a gap between vehicles. You need to stop before you get to the card reader and let the vehicle clear and the gate will work fine.

We are starting our busy time in the park and it is really important that you follow the speed limits in the

park and the road to and from the park. There are people walking around the park and children playing in the park and we don’t need to have anyone injured by speeding vehicles and ATV’s we are here to relax and not be in a hurry for anything.
