Principal’s Report
I start the newsletter this week expressing my gratitude to the staff, students and
parents who have adjusted so well to the new routines in place due to the
recommendations regarding COVID 19. All students and staff have been following
recommendations regarding regular handwashing and sanitising, cough and
sneeze etiquette, ventilation in classrooms and generally looking out for each
other. Social distancing is being encouraged across the school.
Please remind your child/ren to keep up the routines at home as often as possible
and please be vigilant in monitoring their health. Following the recommendations
of keeping your child at home if symptoms of respiratory illness occur and seeking
advice from your GP, remain very important steps in maintaining good health at
Lake Munmorah Public School.
I ask that parents keep in touch with the school in relation to absences. If
your child is away please make sure you respond to the SMS sent to your
phone or call the school.
Year 3
Year 3 is the next year we are featuring in the newsletter. Mr Law is the Assistant
Principal for Stage 2 and leads the teaching team in Years 3 and 4. The level of
learning in Year 3 challenges students to combine the learning of the previous
three years and apply it to the different Key Learning Areas.

Breakfast Club
Due to bread being in short supply because of the unprecedented run
on supermarkets, Breakfast Club will cease when current supplies run
out. We are hoping that donations will resume, however this is an
unknown at the moment. We hope to have it up and consistently operating
again very soon.
Sporting News
Three of our LMPS boys, Jack, Koby and Brody attended the Sydney North cricket trials in
Week 7. Congratulations to Koby who was successful in making it through to the state trials in
September.
Also on cricket, Ms Trew took the school team to the PSSA cricket competition last Tuesday.
The boys were successful and will move to the next round (if that is given the go-ahead by the
department).
Last week, Cohen and Duncan trialled at the combined Central Coast Rugby League trials.
Congratulations to Duncan for making it to the next level.
We await the Department’s advice regarding the continuation of these sports and PSSA
fixtures.
House points are now on display under the COLA after being recently updated after the
swimming carnival.
The Music Bus
We had a visit from the Music Bus
today to see what it could offer the
students of LMPS. Students visited
the bus in groups of seven and got to
see the instruments they can play if parents decide to sign them up for
lessons. All additional information is supplied on the flyer that went home
with children today.
Harmony Day
Everyone looked great in their orange today to recognise
Harmony Day.

LIBRARY NEWS
Book Club Issue 2 orders closed today. However, if you
need to order late, please let me know and I can order for you or re-open the LOOP orders online. THANK YOU to the parents and students who order from Book Club. When
students order, they are very excited to receive their books. On most occasions, the orders arrive within a week of being placed. Book Club provides a great opportunity to purchase current and popular titles at competitive prices. And as an added bonus, the school receives a percentage of the sales, which is used to buy more books for use in classrooms and the library.
The BOOK FAIR* has had to be postponed. Currently it is scheduled to take place
in Term 2 from Friday 22nd
May to coincide with National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 27
th May.
*The date/time of the Book Fair will be confirmed in Week 1 next term.
Look after yourselves amongst the chaos that is
surrounding us in these unprecedented times.
Be kind to yourselves and each other and
perhaps find time to enjoy the simple pleasure
you can find in reading a book.
