Principal’s Report It has been a very busy week this week at Lake Munmorah Public School.
We have had many events and activities on over the course of this week.
Student Parliament
I was proud to open the 2019 sitting of LMPS Student Parliament this week..
The Year 6 students are well versed in the routines that are in place for
parliament and were able to assist the Year 5 students. The quality of the
bills put forward for discussion and the debate generated by the students (the
members of parliament) is improving all the time. Well done to all involved.
K-2 Cross Country
It was certainly a beautiful afternoon on Tuesday for a
run! The K-2 students had a run around the same track
the older students use and were ably assisted by some
mentors from the older grades.
Thank you to Mrs Adamson who
organised both Cross Country
events this year.

Mothers Day Stall and Breakfast The children had a lovely time purchasing some beautiful gifts for their mothers at the Mothers Day Stall on Thursday. It was a very good selection of fun and fabulous items to surprise mum with on Sunday. We also had an outstanding attendance at the special breakfast this morning. Thank you for coming along to share this special morning with us. A big thankyou to the P&C for their hard work on making the stall and the raffle so successful. I wish all mums a very happy day on Sunday.
Zone Cross Country Best of luck to the students who made it to the zone competition that is running today. I saw a number of students this morning at the Mothers Day Breakfast and wished them all the best for a great day. I look forward to hearing how they went on Monday.
Congratulations A special congratulations to Mrs Ally Fletcher. Mrs Fletcher is expecting her second child. She will continue on 2RF for the remainder of this term and then take Maternity Leave. We are finalising a replacement for Mrs Fletcher’s two days on 2RF and will let the families know as soon as we can. NAPLAN You may (or may not) realise the NAPLAN testing begins next week. This year most tests will be completed online. Students have been practicing the skills to access these tests and should feel comfortable about the process. Feeling nervous is normal. We are going about the testing as part of our daily routines, so there is no need to worry. Narelle Baldwin Principal

Infants Cross Country
Well done to all Kindergarten, Years 1 and 2 students who
participated in Tuesday's Infants Cross Country!
We had a gorgeous day for it. It was wonderful to see so many
students out having a go and doing their personal best. Their
smiling faces as they crossed the finish line was a testament to this.
Special thanks once again to our hard-working Year 5 students who
set up the course and ran tirelessly through the course with each
class. (Well done Layla, Kalarnie, Zoe, Shannae, Chelsea, Jemma,
Ava and Brandyn)
