SMALL GRANT PROGRAM2012

• Encouraged to Focus on Biodiversity/Climate Adaptation• Coordinate with existing green infrastructure or

other work, like LID, NPS or land use

• Tie to recommendations in the Biodiversity Blueprint

• Approximately $7000 in funding for each RPC that applied

RESULTS OF 2012 SMALL GRANT PROGRAM

• Bay-Lake RPC• Make regional land use and environmental corridor

GIS datasets publicly accessible in a Google Earth format (.KML/.KMZ) and provide the information on the Wisconsin Sea Grant Coastal Atlas website.

• East Central Wisconsin RPC• Complete the Biodiversity & Habitat and Green

Infrastructure plans for the Niagara Escarpment Greenway Plan project.

RESULTS OF 2012 SMALL GRANT PROGRAM

• Southeastern Wisconsin RPC• Create a popularized summary of the RPC’s Natural

Areas and Critical Species Habitat Plan and distribute this summary to citizens and stakeholders

• West Michigan Shoreline RDC• Develop a plan to strategically manage and eradicate

non-native invasive plants, particularly Phragmites, along the Muskegon Lake and Bear Lake shorelines.
