10 December 2009 Mr. Pipalawan O. Naga IEMP Coordinator, Lanao del Sur Member, MPM-Lanao del Sur Dear Mr. Naga: The School of Government (ASoG) and the other Professional Schools (Law, Graduate School of Business, Medicine & Public Health) of the Ateneo de Manila University will be jointly holding the Ateneo Professional Schools (APS) Sesquicentennial Congress to be held at the APS complex, Rockwell Center, Makati City, on 29 January 2010, 8:30 am till 5:00 pm. The overall theme of the Congress is "Building the Nation by Attacking the Poverty Challenge through Building Capacity of Individuals and Institutions." The Congress will offer plenary and concurrent sessions and booths in which leaders and decision-makers like you in the private and the public sectors and in the areas of governance, law, business, medicine & public health will explore and discuss several opportunities to build our nation through specific and measurable means and ways. It is our pleasure to formally invite you to be one of ASoG’s “storytellers” during the concurrent sessions on Leadership & Governance scheduled from 10:30 am – 12 nn. We would like to ask you to give a 20 to 30-minute talk on “Transforming Governance For Sustainable Development.” We hope your session can focus on your experience in working with the local government in advocating for environment issues, highlighting the transformation of both you and the LGU you work with and also ASoG’s collaboration with your institution. This session will be held in one of the classrooms of the APS. Since the change of the Congress schedule from October to January was due to the Ondoy and Pepeng aftermath, it would be good if your story can relate something about rising from a natural disaster and approaching problems in a systemic way. We hope you can join us. With respect,

DR. ANTONIO G.M. LA ViÑA, JSD Dean
