Eating out

Windermere - Holbeck Ghyll Country House HotelAt the high end of the market, Holbeck Ghyll has a reputation among the gourmands for the finest Anglo-French cuisine, its chef having retained a Michelin star since 2000. And it also represents something else: a blend of informal, friendly and efficient service with high standards of food, wine and a superb environment which makes it a really special place to  savour the finest food while you relax in the natural beauty of the Lakes (the hotel has an absolutely fantastic view down Windermere). It's simply about as good a hotel and restaurant as you can get. Cartmel - L'enclumeA restaurant with rooms, becoming something of a legend for the quality and imaginative approach which Simon Rogan brings to his work. You may love it or hate it, think it's pretentious or delightful, but you won't be left indifferent. I personally love joining the exploration of food that is Rogan's specialty. And, after all, you don't get a Michelin star for nothing. Try it once, with an open mind.

Ullswater - Sharrow BayA very high class and long established hotel with a kitchen that serves up cooking of an extremely high standard: indeed, it has had a Michelin star for many years. Sharrow Bay is a place that features on every "foodie's" list of the best places to eat in the Lake District. See their entry in the luxury hotels section of this website.1.5 miles from Pooley Bridge on the east side of Ullswater.

Have you explained how the destination will attract tourists?

I believe the tourism lake district would attract would be a mixture of inbound and outbound as the natural surroundings are as attractive to everyone.

I believe the age of people visiting would be ranging from around 30-40 years of age as people too young may not understand the beauty of lake district.

Couples of families may visit lake district as it may romantic for couples and refreshing for families.
