Dear Customer,I am often asked what makes LAGOS different. There are many appropriate answers, but at the heart of each

LAGOS is recognized as “Jeweler’s jewellery”; old-worldworkmanship and meticulous attention to detail are our highest priorities. Each piece we create is about excellence andthe continual reach for perfection.

When I founded LAGOS in 1977, in many ways, business was conducted at a much slower pace due to theabsence of the advanced technology we’ve grown accustom to today. Service was paramount and conducted as a verypersonal, one-to-one experience. At LAGOS, we continue to operate in that same time-honored manner.

While our systems are state of the art, technology has never been a substitute for personal attention. We work in aworld-class studio in Old City Philadelphia with skilled craftspeople from every part of our industry. Additionally, ouradministrative and support staff are second to none. Our team is empowered and well-informed, and we pride ourselveson being a good citizen of the world and a positive force in American style and design.

Customer service is a key element of who we are as well. In 1977, Steven Lagos founded LAGOS with a vision to create

designer jewellery for the modern lifestyle. Today, LAGOS is one of

the premier luxury brands in the United States.

For almost thirty years, LAGOS has created award-winning

collections with a classic signature style. The LAGOS tradition is

built on old-world craftsmanship with uncompromising attention to

detail, using only the finest materials in the world. Authenticity is,

has been, and will always be paramount. Each piece is designed

to be versatile, sophisticated, and reflective of an individual’s

personal style.

In 1984, LAGOS introduced the signature Caviar™ Collection.

This bold collection of finely crafted sterling silver accented by

eighteen-karat gold, semi-precious gemstones, and caviar-like

beading marked the beginning of a new jewellery category,

playing a significant role in defining the bridge jewellery

movement. Today, Caviar™ is one of the best-selling fine jewellery

collections in the country.

Located in historic Old City of Philadelphia, The LAGOS Studio

is dedicated to designing and manufacturing jewellery of the

highest quality. Artisans here uphold scrupulous standards,

perfecting every detail and guaranteeing each LAGOS piece for a

lifetime.

LAGOS is available at fine retailers including Neiman Marcus,

Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, and over 100 of

the finest independent jewelers across America. The LAGOS

Flagship Store is located on Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square.

INSIDE THE STUDIOS

Set in Old City Philadelphia, the LAGOS Studio is a state-of-the-art atelier where old-world

craftsmanship and modern innovation combine to create impeccable handcrafted jewellery. It is here

that artisans craft architecturally inspired designs with intricate detail from the initial idea to the final

polished piece. This unparalleled attention ensures that each and every creation is of the absolute

highest quality, making it worthy of the LAGOS name.

The artistry behind each design is best captured through the process itself. It begins, of course, with

an idea. Designer Steven Lagos draws upon inspiration both past and present to develop concepts that

are uniquely LAGOS. Once satisfied with his vision, Steven then shares it with a team of skilled model

makers who bring the sketch to life. Using traditional hand carving techniques and modern computer

aided design, three dimensional wax models are created.

Once a wax model is complete, it is transformed into a metal model through the centuries-old lost-

wax casting process, in which the wax model is encased in plaster and heated until the wax is melted

away. Molten metal is poured into the remaining cavity in the plaster and cooled. The plaster is then

washed away to reveal an exact metal copy of the wax. This metal model is carefully detailed by hand.

Skilled craftspeople make certain that each style is crafted to exacting standards to ensure that each

piece is both beautiful and comfortable.

These perfected metal models become the master pattern. A rubber mold is made from that pattern

in order to create multiple exact copies in wax. These duplicates are then taken through the lost-wax

casting process to produce many individual metal castings. A piece of LAGOS jewellery can be

comprised of numerous different castings, as well as other elements such as diamonds, gemstones, and

pearls, and even subtle working parts like springs and chains. Every piece of LAGOS jewellery

originates from these same perfected master models.

These essential pieces are then given to a skilled jeweller whose job it is to take these individual

component parts and, using the wealth of their knowledge and techniques, assemble them to construct

the wonderful object that is a piece of LAGOS jewellery.

Once assembled, sterling silver is oxidized to bring out the sculptural qualities of the jewellery and

create the rich luster that is LAGOS’ signature finish. Once a piece has been oxidized, stones are set

and the finished piece is given a final polish. A technical inspection ensures that every piece meets

LAGOS’ high standards of excellence. It can take from twenty five to literally hundreds of individual steps

to complete a single LAGOS creation.

LAGOS accepts orders through our Account Executives, by phone, fax, or email. Orders should

include our complete item number and any other specific instructions. All orders will be shipped UPS

Ground unless otherwise noted.

Items not featured in the pricelist are considered inactive, yet it may be possible to special order these

items by request. Inactive items may carry a 15-25% service fee depending on inventory status. Inactive

items that need to be made will require 6 to 12 weeks for delivery, depending on availability. Please

CARING FOR CAVIAR PRODUCTS

DO• Always keep your jewellery in the LAGOS

pouch when not being worn.• Frequently wipe your jewellery with the

provided polishing cloth.

DO NOT• Do not wear silver jewellery in the ocean-

salt water as it speeds the oxidationprocess and can cause jewellery toblacken more quickly. (This will not affectthe jewellery— only the color.) In the eventthat blackening occurs, please return theitem to your local area retailer forrefinishing or email Customer Service [email protected]

• Do not use silver cleaner on LAGOSjewellery as it will remove all of theoxidation and leave the piece looking flat.

• Do not worry if you cannot restore yourpiece to it’s original lustre. Any piece thatcannot be cleaned at home to yoursatisfaction can be returned to LAGOS forrefurbishing and in most cases can bemade to look like new again. You simplypay postage and we’ll do the rest.

Gemstone CareGemstones can get dirty. Often, soap and hand lotion can cover the gemstone with a film, dulling

the luster. Gemstones can be cleaned using a slightly soapy solution (1 part Palmolive dishwashing liq-uid + 10 parts water). Dip your jewellery into this solution and scrub lightly using a soft toothbrush. Rinseunder cool water and repeat as needed. Ultrasonic cleaning is also acceptable.

LAGOS jewellery requires minimum care and will provide a lifetime of enjoyment.

All LAGOS Caviar products are hand-craftedfrom 925 sterling silver and eighteen karat gold.As with all sterling silver, LAGOS silver will tar-nish. With this in mind, LAGOS has taken sig-nificant steps to keep your jewellery looking newwith minimum care.

You will notice that all of the recessed areas onyour piece are already dark. This is part of anantiquing process in which these recessed areasare oxidized and is a deliberate feature of thedesign. These darkened areas accentuate thedesign, giving the piece added dimension.

To care for your product simply use the providedpolishing cloth. The white inner cloth contains ourunique formula of precious metal cleaning agentsand applies an anti-tarnish barrier to your jew-ellery. The outer cloth gently polishes and buffsyour piece, resulting in an unsurpassed luster.

For optimum results, apply pressure as yougently rub the gold and silver with the whiteinner cloth. Notice that the tarnish is easilyremoved onto the cloth. This discoloration is nor-mal and acceptable. Discoloration does notchange the effectiveness of the cloth. Next, usethe outer cloth to buff the piece to a higher lus-ter. Please note: Do not use the inner whitecloth to clean pearls, opal, coral, or other softgemstones. The outer cloth is acceptable forcleaning all surfaces.

REFURBISHING

LAGOS jewellery may show signs of normal wear and tear over time. LAGOS offers com-plete refurbishing service on all of our products.

When sending jewellery in for refurbishing, please make an itemized list and detailednotes as to the condition of the piece (bent shank, gemstone chips, etc.) and desired work tobe performed.

* Complimentary refurbishing does not include replacing damaged gemstones. Damaged gemstones can be replaced with esti-mates given upon request. Please specify if a gemstone requires replacement and an estimate is needed. All gemstones will betightened during the refurbishing process.
