LACIP signs MoU with (ATIN) Applied Technologies Institute (NLC)
The LACIP PMU organized a eld visit for the BMZ Mission in th
District Charsadda on the 9th of April, 2013. The team visin
Charsadda comprised of PPAF C.E.O Qazi Azmat Isa along, Kf
Director Anna Chrisne Janke, KfW Program Manager Haroo
Razzaq, Senior Group Head PGS Zaar Pervez Sabri and GM
LACIP Masood Khalid.
PPAFs Partner Organizaon SRSP facilitated the team in theld and called upon community organizaons to give present
ons on the impacts of the CPI Schemes constructed in the
village; the Mission also met with livestock asset transfer ben
ciaries in the Union Council Mandani.
LACIP signed a MoU with Applied Technologies Instute (Naonal Logiscs
Cell) (ATIN) on 17th of April, 2013. ATIN is a subsidiary of Naonal LogiscsCell Pakistan. This MOU would enable specic need based vocaonal train-
ings to be provided to the selected community members in the idened
areas through ATIN in collaboraon with Partner Organizaons under
LACIP.
The iniave will have a direct impact on the trainees livelihood as they
will be trained in advanced laboratories with highly technical machinery
which will build their capacity in accordance with up to date technology
being used in various industries. Once the community members complete
their training, they will be awarded degrees and cercaons which will
exponenally increase their chances to nd employment overseas as well
as within the country.

Multi Sectoral Planning Brainstorming Sessionheld by LACIP PMU
The Mul Sectoral Planning (MSP) brainstorming session was held at PPAF on the 17th of April, 2013. HELVETAS Consultant, M
Mehmood Hemani acted as lead moderator where he created an open forum discussion for innovave ideas and models of MSP to b
implemented at the Union Council level in the LACIP Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Ms. Arjumand Nizami, Mr. Nadeem Bukhari an
Ms. Roshan Ara from Swiss Intercooperaon gave their input regarding various tools to carry out comprehensive market assessmenand determine value chains. As a result of the brainstorming session, it was decided that the District Haripur would be chosen as
pilot District under LACIP where the proposed MSP would be implemented over the coming months.
Coordination Meeting of LACIP Livelihood ComponentPartner Organizations with DeputyDirector NLC
The purpose of the coordinaon meeng between LACIPs
Partner Organizaons and the NLC Deputy Director Mr
Zeeshan Hashmi was to introduce the programme of train-
ing community members from LACIPs ve Districts.
The Deputy Director NLC explained that the process of se-
lecng the right candidates for training was imperave and
that the trainees would be divided into batches so as to
provide comprehensive training to a large number of com-
munity members. Mr. Zeeshan presented and answered
queries on the level and types of trainings that would be
conducted over a period of 3 to 6 months in the city o
Dina.

The Interacve Resource Center (IRC) team is develop-ing the documentary for all the ve Districts under
LACIP. Shoong for the District of D.I Khan was complet-
ed in the month of February, where LACIPs D. I. Khan
Partner Organizaons assisted the team in the eld.
Footage of Interviews of community members, asset
transfer beneciaries and shots of physical infrastruc-
ture schemes in seven Union Councils was collected by
the IRC team.Mr. Marn Dietz of Swiss Intercooperaon held an exercise with com-
munity members regarding value chain linkages being created by the
farmers enterprise groups in the District Charsadda. He explained the
advantages of common interest groups and how livelihood enhance-
ment goals could be accomplished through the right linkages within the
local markets.

Mr. Johannes Heickmann from KfW holds a meetingwith LACIP PMUKfW Project Manager Crisis Response Asia Mr. Johan-
nes Heickmann convened a meeng with LACIP PMU at
PPAF on 20th February, 2013. Present at the meeng
were, Project Manager KfW Mr. Haroon Razzaq Qureshi,
Senior Group Head Mr. Zaar Pervez Sabri, General
Manager LACIP Mr. Masood Khalid .
The agenda of the meeng was to contemplate and
discuss the level of progress of Partner Organizaons in
all the Districts, and which measures should be iniated
in order to increase overall ulizaon of the Project in a
shorter span of me.
Mr. Masood Khalid introduced the idea of LACIPs own
Management Informaon System database. He further
explained that it would be uniquely tailored to t all thereporng and monitoring requirements of the Donor in
terms of speedy access to monthly and quarterly pro-
gress reports on the web and other detailed analysis
regarding all the components under LACIP.
