Friends and colleagues, 2970 TWh makes Latin America the newest global hotspot for investment in energy infrastructure for power, fuels and gas. However, government support is “lacking” for the US$326 billion invested in clean energy this 2016, according to developers of geothermal, wind, hydropower, solar, biomass/waste-to-energy, natural gas and other projects.
The top 6 obstacles: [1] Public and environmental opposition [2] Lack of government planning and support [3] Excessive regulation and bureaucracy [4] Misinformation about new technologies and their applications [5] Tax regime [6] Not enough competition How can we pave the way for a more reliable, more secure, and more inclusive energy mix in the western hemisphere? It is an absolute must today to engage the policy-makers, the private sector and international development finance communities in a face-to-face setting to generate trust and foster genuine cooperation to move forward.
LAC Future Energy Summit 2017 is this year's much-anticipated conference to build partnerships to succeed in this exciting new world of energy mix diversification. Certainty in regulation, innovative financing structures, and specialized technical know-how will make the difference towards securing more than $326 billion in investment for new energy infrastructure in 2017 and continuing to build commercially viable technology pathways to energy security for the coming decades to 2040. Because in this post-industrial age, affordable and reliable power is what makes or breaks an economy. The LAC Future Energy Summit 2017 is not just another conference full of sound bites and little practical outcome. Developers and funding agencies are all waiting to know who are SERIOUS about making real inroads into enabling “Energy for Growth and Energy for All” in Latin America. We invite you to bring your team to shake hands and talk with the industry over meals and over executive plenaries at this year's meeting.
In addition there will be three action-packed action-oriented panel discussions on Generation, Transmission & Distribution and the renewed role of Oil & Gas in the future energy infrastructure of the region, as well as site tours to visit nearby record-holding facilities where you can see the latest technology and equipment in actual use for benchmarking with your own facilities. This will be the only industry meeting you need to join this year, because you will get to: - Enjoy the expertise and dedication of the speakers featured within the program, and engage them in face-to-face conversation to bring your own business to the next level.
- Discuss policies that would promote further investment and development of energy infrastructure with the VIPs from organizations like the Inter-American Development Bank · Nacional Financiera (Nafinsa) · World Bank · Ministry of Energy, Chile - Ministerio de Energia, Gobierno de Chile · United Nations · United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) · Federative Republic of Brazil · Ministry of Mines and Energy - Ministério de Minas e Energia ﴾MME﴿, Brazil · Secretariat of Energy - Secretaria de Energia (SENER), Mexico · Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Públicos, S.N.C. (Banobras) · Ministry of Finance - Ministerio de Hacienda, Chile · Inter-American Development Bank / Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (IDB/BID) · Republic of Chile · Center for Geothermal Energy Innovation (CeMIE-Geo) · Federal Electricity Commission - Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) · and many more (a fuller list of invitees is available upon request) As a bonus, when you bring a group of at least 5 delegates, you will receive [ YES ] Prime reserved seating during the official conference luncheon [ YES ] Full Waiver on any and all registration fees for one additional delegate, or [ YES ] Opportunity to display a company banner (maximum 1m wide and 2.5m high) within the plenary ballroom We invite you to join us for LACFES 2017 on Thursday & Friday, April 27-28, 2017 in Mexico City, Mexico. The conference and expo will be on Day 1, and the sponsored site tours will be on Day 2. For more information, please feel free to call me at +1 (917) 512-2878 or email [email protected] anytime – it would be a pleasure to confirm details with your team and work with you on this program.
