Seminar: Absenteeism and Managing Incapacity Absenteeism is arguably one of the key issues within the corporate environment that significantly contributes to reduced productivity, the disruption of operational processes, low morale, marginal employee engagement and ultimately increased costs and reduced returns on investment. It is common for employers to manage absenteeism on a reactive rather than on a proactive basis. The solution that it provided will ultimately equip the Company to implement and administer a focused, holistic and successful absentee management program. Experience has shown that through the application of appropriate absentee interventions, a 30% to 50% reduction in direct costs attributed to absentees can at least be expected. The seminar is effective in exposing management to tools to assist in the reduction of absenteeism through correcting behaviour of the employees who are possibly taking opportunistic absence and/or abusing their sick leave. Furthermore, this seminar is designed to enable delegates to manage incapacity relating to ill-health as envisaged by labour legislation. It will lead delegates through the required procedural and substantive aspects, as contained in the Labour Relations Act, as well as how to deal with Substance Abuse and Desertion.
