(“SUMMIT”) was found-ed in the Charlotte-Metropolitan area by three experienced profes-sionals, Douglas Curley, Andrew Coffey and Robert McDonnell, in 2004. SUMMIT has since diversified into a multi-disciplinary consulting firm offering engineering and support services including full-ser-vice Environmental, Geotechnical, Subsurface Drilling, Special Inspec-tions, Materials Testing, Forensic and Structural Engineering depart-ments backed by a full-service NCDOT Tier III, AMRL, CCRL and AASHTO certified Laboratory.
Since SUMMIT’s founding, the company has experienced a consistent and steady expansion in all of our service sectors, capabilities, clientele and team members. With five office locations serving North and South Carolina, SUMMIT is poised for continued growth within our existing markets in addition to exploring new opportunities throughout the Carolinas. Our five offices are located in Charlotte (HQ) and Raleigh, North Carolina and Columbia, Greenville and Charleston, South Carolina.

Doug Curley has more than 20 years of experience in the engineering and construction services industry ranging from field and laboratory testing to
senior level project management and engineering. Mr. Curley is experienced in performing, managing, and providing technical consulting for Construction Materials Testing, Foundation Engineering, Construction Manage-ment, Geotechnical Explorations, Phase I and II Environ-mental Site Assessments, Asbestos and Lead Based Paint Surveys and Property Condition Surveys.
Andrew Coffey
Andrew Coffey has more than 15 years of experience in the engineering and construction services industry with experience in construction inspections,
QA/QC, structural design, project management, and municipal engineering. Mr. Coffey is experienced in performing, managing and providing technical consulting for a wide range of Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects in addition to Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering projects.
Robert McDonnell
Robert McDonnell has more than 12 years of experience in the engineering and construction services industry ranging from field and laboratory
testing to project management. Mr. McDonnell is respon-sible for supervising, scheduling and training all field staff and performing calibration of field and laboratory testing equipment. Mr. McDonnell also provides certified testing and inspection for a wide range of construction materials including soils, asphalt, concrete and masonry.
Christian Disher, P.E.
Christian Disher has more than 14 years of professional experience in the engineering field ranging from land development design to project
management. Mr. Disher is experienced in working with multi discipline projects, such as interstate mainte-nance/asset management projects, transportation related design and analysis projects, in addition to industrial, commercial, and residential land development projects.
Raleigh Branch ManagerJason Coble, P.E.
Jason Coble is a graduate of North Carolina State University, with over 9 years of experience in the construction and engineering industry, much of
which includes project management on large-scale capital university, municipal, and commercial projects. He has extensive experience with Geotechnical, Structural, and Civil projects and understands how each of these aspects interfaces on a given project. Mr. Coble manages our staff of highly experienced and educated technicians and inspectors. Mr. Coble is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina.

Russell Thomas, Jr., P.E. (TX)
Russell Thomas has more than 19 years of Geotechnical project experience, including site reconnais-sance and design-phase geotechnical
investigations, geologic inventory reports for bridge and roadway replacements, building distress investigations and construction inspection services. His design experience includes shallow footings, iterative mat foundation design, drilled footings, deep foundations, raised earthen levees, adaptation to various soil types, tank ring-wall foundations and much more. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University, is ACI Concrete Testing certified, and is a member of ASCE.

Stephen Nickerson, P.E.Charleston Branch Manager
Stephen Nickerson has more than 8 years of professional experience in Geotechnical Engineering, Construc-tion Materials Testing and Special
Inspections, and Construction Management. His project management experience includes work in the residen-tial, roadway, commercial, state and local government, communications and energy infrastructure sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Clemson University.
Mark Grohregin, P.E.
Mark Grohregin has more than 20 years of experience in providing engineering services, including project management, construction
management, inspection services and mechanical engineering. He is a member of ASCE and is a Certified Welding Inspector. He carries Professional Engineer registrations in North and South Carolina, and earned an MBA from the Rollins College School of Business.

Mimi Hourani has more than 13 years of experience in the laboratory and materials testing field, and serves as our Laboratory Services Manager. As a
NICET Level III, ACI Level II and NCDOT Laboratory Certified Materials Technician, Ms. Hourani is responsible for the direct supervision And performance of our advanced 6,000 SF AASHTO, ARML, CCRL, and NCDOT certified laboratory testing facility.
Michael Zavislak, P.E. NRCC-EAC, CHMM, CIH,Environmental Department Manager
Michael Zavislak has more than 17 years of professional experience in the Environmental field. Previously
employed by the U.S. Department of Energy and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Mr. Zavislak is a registered Professional Engineer, Certified industrial hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), certified Environmental Analytical Chemist, and licensed for Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint in North and South Carolina. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Greenville Technical College.
Meade Willis, P.E., S.E.Structural Department Manager
Meade Willis joined SUMMIT in the Fall of 2015 and brings more than 8 years of experience in structural engineering. His work includes projects
in the education, office, healthcare, mixed-use and industrial sectors. Beyond new structures, he has significant experience on renovation projects, including buildings dating from the early 1900s. He has provided code-compliant design and detailing for steel, wood, reinforced concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel and aluminum structures. Mr. Coffey is experienced in performing, managing and providing technical consulting for a wide range of Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects in addition to Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering projects.
Robert McDonnell
Robert McDonnell has more than 12 years of experience in the engineering and construction services industry ranging from field and laboratory
testing to project management. Mr. McDonnell is respon-sible for supervising, scheduling and training all field staff and performing calibration of field and laboratory testing equipment. Mr. McDonnell also provides certified testing and inspection for a wide range of construction materials including soils, asphalt, concrete and masonry.
Christian Disher, P.E.
Christian Disher has more than 14 years of professional experience in the engineering field ranging from land development design to project
management. Mr. Disher is experienced in working with multi discipline projects, such as interstate mainte-nance/asset management projects, transportation related design and analysis projects, in addition to industrial, commercial, and residential land development projects.

Jason Coble is a graduate of North Carolina State University, with over 9 years of experience in the construction and engineering industry, much of
which includes project management on large-scale capital university, municipal, and commercial projects. He has extensive experience with Geotechnical, Structural, and Civil projects and understands how each of these aspects interfaces on a given project. Mr. Coble manages our staff of highly experienced and educated technicians and inspectors. Mr. Coble is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina.

Russell Thomas, Jr., P.E. (TX)
Russell Thomas has more than 19 years of Geotechnical project experience, including site reconnais-sance and design-phase geotechnical
investigations, geologic inventory reports for bridge and roadway replacements, building distress investigations and construction inspection services. His design experience includes shallow footings, iterative mat foundation design, drilled footings, deep foundations, raised earthen levees, adaptation to various soil types, tank ring-wall foundations and much more. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University, is ACI Concrete Testing certified, and is a member of ASCE.

Inspections, and Construction Management. His project management experience includes work in the residen-tial, roadway, commercial, state and local government, communications and energy infrastructure sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Clemson University.

management, inspection services and mechanical engineering. He is a member of ASCE and is a Certified Welding Inspector. He carries Professional Engineer registrations in North and South Carolina, and earned an MBA from the Rollins College School of Business.

NICET Level III, ACI Level II and NCDOT Laboratory Certified Materials Technician, Ms. Hourani is responsible for the direct supervision And performance of our advanced 6,000 SF AASHTO, ARML, CCRL, and NCDOT certified laboratory testing facility.

Michael Zavislak has more than 17 years of professional experience in the Environmental field. Previously
employed by the U.S. Department of Energy and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Mr. Zavislak is a registered Professional Engineer, Certified industrial hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), certified Environmental Analytical Chemist, and licensed for Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint in North and South Carolina. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Greenville Technical College.
Meade Willis, P.E., S.E.Structural Department Manager
Meade Willis joined SUMMIT in the Fall of 2015 and brings more than 8 years of experience in structural engineering. His work includes projects
in the education, office, healthcare, mixed-use and industrial sectors. Beyond new structures, he has significant experience on renovation projects, including buildings dating from the early 1900s. He has provided code-compliant design and detailing for steel, wood, reinforced concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel and aluminum structures. He is a member of the Code Advisory Committee with the National Council of Structural Engineers Association (NCSEA).
