1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. All site amenities shall be produced in a plant of recognized reputation that is regularly engaged in the production of the type of site amenity conforming to the specified standards. Site amenities of the same type shall be the product of a single manufacturer.

B. Only products proven non-toxic are acceptable. Products used may not contain any recycled wood products or any wood containing paint, chemicals (including but not limited to Chromated copper arsenate (CCA)) or additives.

C. All products supplied shall meet requirements for use per NFSHSA.

A. Shop drawings and manufacturer's literature including technical and installation information for each amenity specified.

1.6 DELIVERY, HANDLING, AND STORAGE

A. Store all material so they can be easily inspected and so they will not be damaged prior to installation.

B. Materials shall be moved, loaded, and unloaded such that they will not be subject to excess stress. Permanent distortion or other damage attributable to the Contractor's operation shall be cause for rejection.

C. Materials shall be stored off the ground in a manner that will not allow distortion or other damage to occur.

1.7 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING

A. Coordinate relocation and installation of site amenities with earthwork, utility installations, concrete and asphalt sidewalks, landscape plantings, topsoil spreading, and seeding.

B. Coordinate location and installation of site amenities with removals, earthwork, electrical services and associated PVC sleeving and conduits, concrete/asphalt/ paver sidewalks, landscape plantings, topsoil spreading, and other installations.

C. Excavation: When conditions detrimental to amenity installation are encountered, such as rubble fill, adverse drainage conditions, obstructions or unsuitable materials, notify the Owner's Representative, before commencing installation.

FOOTBALL GOAL POSTS

Football goal posts shall be rotating high school goal posts with 8' offset and 20' uprights. Goals shall be yellow. Goals shall be Product Number GP4380R as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

An Access Frame Kit with a Synthetic Turf Infill Retainer System shall be used with the football goal posts. Product number GP4570R. The kit shall include a soccer goal safety system, product number SG2S as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

Goal Post Pads - Two standard goal post pads shall be included, with color to be selected by Owner from standard color palette, with "NT" in white lettering.

TRACK AND FIELD AMENITIES

Pole Vault Box and Cover - The pole vault box shall be 13 gauge, 304 stainless steel, powder coated white with a stainless steel cover, Product Number TFPV002SS-Wand TFPVC002SS as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

Shot Put - The shot put toe board shall be aluminum powder coated white for a level pad installation. The toe board shall be installed with 3/8-16 xI" hex head bolt, flat washer, lock washer and four-way expansion anchor hardware. Product Number TFSPT002AL as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

Shot Put Landing Area - The landing area shall be 4-inches of Marco Clay Erie Ball Mix, or approved equal.

Discus - The discus cage shall include (8) 4" OD x 1/8" thick wall x 14' tall aluminum, upright poles. The poles shall be powder coated black. The main net shall be 13' tall, 1 %" square mesh nylon black twine. The cage shall also include a Ttall, 1 %" square mesh nylon black twine safety net installed outside of the upright poles. Both nets shall allow rear entry offset from each other. Product Number TFDCCOLL as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

E. Steeplechase - The steeplechase system shall meet all NFHS, NCAA and IAAF rules and specifications. 1. The system shall include three bolted together panel structures that form the rear and side

walls. The rear panel shall include a drain and valve which can be operated with a T­handle. The inclined surface of the steeplechase shall be coated with synthetic track surface.

2. The system shall include a cover set which rest on 6-inch cover ledges. Ledge filler panels shall be provided to the owner for use when the covers are removed.

3. The 5"x5" track aluminum hurdle shall be covered with synthetic track material (black and white).

Product Numbers WJ5000, WJ5400 and WJ5020 as manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

F. Long Jump - The long jump take-off board shall be 8-inch, %-inch synthetic white polyboard with a 16 gauge, 304 stainless steel tray. The tray shall include a I-inch PVC drain stub. Product Number TFLT008SS-SYN as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

G. Long Jump Pit Cover - Provide a weighted, coated, solid vinyl cover to cover the entire landing area of the long jump. Shall be 1000 denier 14 x 12 PVC extruded fabric. Framed with a 210z knife coated vinyl composed of 5 oz. 840 denier nylon with a 23x23 construction and 160z of liquid coated urethane that is spread over one side of the nylon material. H. Long Jump Landing Pit Sand - Sand shall have a Specific Gravity of 2.71 and Unit Weight of 99lb./pcf and meet the following gradation requirements:

2.4 BALL SAFETY NETTING

A. TFBSS 8' tall Standard Netting System with 2-inch straight poles and a 2" ground sleeve as manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties Inc., 41155 State Highway 10, Delhi, NY 13753, p. 888-975-3343, www.sportsfieldspecialties.com or approved equal.

B. TFBSS415P-SG 15' tall Standard Netting system with 4" O.D. (3.5" schedule 40 aluminum) powder coated black straight poles, semi-permanent ground sleeve model as manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties Inc., 41155 State Highway 10, Delhi, NY 13753, p. 888-975-3343, www.sportsfieldspecialties.com or approved equal.

2.5 FOUL POLES

A. Foul poles shall be 4-inch diameter aluminum, powder coated yellow, 20' foul poles with a wing. Product Number LGFPW 420 as manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

2.6 BASEBALL BASES, HOMEPLATE AND PITCHING RUBBER

A. Provide a set of three (3) bases with anchors and anchor plugs for each field at the Intermediate School. Bases shall be 15"x15"x3" with 6" stanchions. Product Number LGBBPL - Schutt Jack Corbett MLB Hollywood Bases as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

1. Anchors shall be 1 %" square x 8" long female ground anchors. Product Number LGBBP - 44 - Schutt Ground Anchor Mounts as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

2. Additional anchors and anchor plugs shall be installed at all baseline layout locations as shown on the contract drawings.

B. Home plate shall be 1);2" thick with five zinc plated mounting spikes. Product Number LGSHP - UM - Schutt Hollywood MLB Universal Pro Style Home Plate as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

C. The pitching rubber shall be 24" long, 6" wide molded rubber construction around an aluminum cylindrical tube and designed to rotated allowing play on four sides. Product Number LGBBPB-Schutt Four Sided Professional Pitching Rubber as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

2.7 BASEBALL DUGOUTS AND EQUIPMENT

A. The Varsity Baseball Field at the Intermediate School shall include two (one along each baseline) 10' wide by 24' long steel cantilever dugouts. The steel frame structure shall be powder coated black and include a 29 gauge corrugated metal roof. The dugout shall have a 24" rear offset. A base plate cover shall be provided. Product Number LG-CD-l Ox24-0FFSET24 as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal.

B. The Varsity Baseball field dugouts and N baseball field shall be equipped with Semi­Permanent Single Tier with Backrest Polyboard Team Benches, which shall be surface mounted to the concrete slab as shown on the contract drawings. There shall be a total of 4 benches as shown on the contract drawings. The benches shall be 22' long and surface mounted to the concrete slab, Product Number LG-STPY-BRSP as manufactured by Sports field Specialties, Inc. or approved equal. 1. The bench shall be 10" wide and consist of 2" aluminum square tube construction.

2.8 SYNTHETIC TURF QUICK CONNECT VALVE BOX

A. Quick Connect Valve Boxes shall be 1'-6" xl' -3". The quick connect valve box shall be "Quick Connect Valve Box" (TC-3700-QVC Plus) as manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties. Cover shall be compatible with synthetic turf. All quick connect water valves, pipe clamps, and leveling bolts shall be included.

2.9 SYNTHETIC TURF ELECTRICAL/COMMUNICATION BOX

A. ElectricaVCommunication Boxes shall be 1'-6" xl' -3". The box shall be "3500.5 ComBox+" with infill retainer system as manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties. Cover shall be compatible with synthetic turf.

2.1 0 TRAIL MARKERS

A. Trail markers shall be "4 inch Flat Trail & Path Concrete Marker (Bronze)" as manufactured by Berntsen International or approved equal. Markers shall be engraved prior to placement in asphalt pavement. All trail markers shall include the words "W ALKIN G PATH" around the top edge of the marker. The following trail markers shall be provided: 1. "1/8 MILE" 2. "1/4 MILE" 3. "3/8 MILE" 4. "1/2 MILE". This trail marker shall also contain words "START / FINISH" around the

bottom edge of the marker.

2.11 SCREENS FOR TENNIS COURTS, BASEBALL DUGOUTS AND STADIUM

A. Tennis: Tennis court screening shall be installed in locations shown on the site plans. Screen shall be 10' tall and installed along the top and bottom rail of tennis court fencing. 1. Screen shall consist of open mesh poly made from polypropylene monofilament and the

following properties: a. Weight: ASTM D-5261 4.9 oz/SY b. Warp Tensile: ASTM D-5100 75lbs c. Warp Tear: ASTM D-2261 120lbs d. Fill Tensile: ASTM D-5100 180lbs e. File Tear: ASTM D-5512 320lbs f. Air Flow: ASTM D-737 22% g. h.

B. Baseball Dugouts: Dugout screening shall be installed around 3 sides of the varsity baseball field dugouts. Screen shall be 6' tall and installed along the top and bottom rail of chain link fencing. 1. Screen shall consist of open mesh poly made from polypropylene monofilament and the

following properties: a. Weight: ASTM D-5261 4.9 oz/SY b. Warp Tensile: ASTM D-5100 75lbs c. Warp Tear: ASTM D-2261 120lbs d. Fill Tensile: ASTM D-5100 180lbs e. File Tear: ASTM D-5512 320lbs f. Air Flow: ASTM D-737 22% g. h.

C. Turf Field Stadium (Back & Sides): A 10-FT screen shall be attached to the full length of chain link fence fabric on the backside, sides and sides of the two vomitory entrances of the main bleacher stadium. The gates shall also be covered with the 10-FT screen. Sides shall match the height of the fence. 1. Screens shall be digitally printed using UV protected Ultra-Brite inks. The material shall

be reinforced vinyl mesh (Dura-Mesh). Mesh shall allow for 30% wind pass through. Two inch hems shall be fabricated with grommets and be fused and reinforced (Dura­Guard).

2. The Contractor shall coordinate artwork and graphics for the stadium screens with the Owner. A mock-up of the artwork and graphics shall be prepared and submitted during the shop drawing review process for the Owner's review and approval prior to purchasing.

3. Screen shall be the Bleacher Skin Graphic System as manufactured by BigSigns (www.bigsigns.com /I-800-790-7611) or approved equal.

D. Turf Field Stadium (Front): A 4-FT screen shall be attached to the chain link fence fabric for the full length of the front side of the main bleacher stadium.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 GENERAL

A. Stake out location of all site amenity items and obtain approval from Owner's Representative before installation.

B. All site amenities shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Recommendations that are in direct conflict with the details or specifications provided in these contract documents shall be brought to the Engineer's attention.

3.2 GOAL POST

A. All goal posts shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer's recommendation, at locations shown on the Contract Drawings and/or in conformance with National Federation of State High School Association requirements.

3.3 SOCCER GOAL SAFETY SYSTEM

A. Install as indicated on the drawings with 2' square, 6" thick concrete footer as recommended by manufacturer.

B. Drain stnb shall be connected to the field drainage system as shown on the drawings.

3.4 BASEBALL DUGOUTS AND EQUIPMENT

May 2016

A. All baseball dugouts and equipment shall be installed as recommended with manufacturer's written directions, and as indicated on the drawings.

3.5 QUICK CONNECT VALVE BOX

A. All quick connect valve boxes shall be installed as recommended with manufactnrer's written directions, and as indicated on the drawings.

3.6 TRAIL MARKERS

A. All trail markers shall be installed per manufactnrer's written directions, and as indicated on the drawings. No asphalt or concrete material shall interfere with the visibility of any part of the outer face of the trail marker upon completion of installation. If any such interference is to occur, Contractor shall re-install trail marker at no additional cost to the Owner. Trail markers shall all be readable from the assumed path of travel, which is counterclockwise around the facility assuming the north direction is as shown on the drawings.
