Lab: Configuring Reporting
Exercise 1: Configuring a Reporting Services Point
Task 1: Configuring SQL Server Reporting Services
1. On the configuration manager server na-sccm-01 logon with dnosi\administrator / Pa$$w0rd
2. On the Configuration Manager server,na-sccm-01, right click on Start and click Search
3. Type Reporting Services and click on Reporting Services Configuration Manager
4. Click Connect
5. If the service is not Started, click Start
6. Click Web Service URL and click Apply
7. Click Database and click Change Database
8. Select Create a new report server database and click Next
9. Click Test Connection e after Success, click OK
10. Type a name on the Database Name and click Next
14. Confirm the information
15. Click Report Manager URL and check the URL. Click Apply.
16. Click Exit to close Reporting Services Configuration Manager
Task 2: Add Reporting Services Point
1. On the SCCM Console, click in Administration workspace, expand Site Configuration and click Servers and Site System Roles
2. Click Next
3. Accept the Default and click Next
4. Select Reporting services point
5. Click Verify and click Set Existing Account next to User name and select dnosi\administrator. Click Next
Task 3: Check the Logs to monitor the Reporting Services Point installation
1. Back to na-sccm-01, navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration
Manager\Logs.
2. Double click on srsrp log file to open it. Notice that the reporting services point
successfully created.
Task 4: View and run the reports from console
1. On the SCCM Console, click in Monitoring workspace, expand Reporting and click Reports.
3. Right click on Users in a specific domain report and select Run
4. Click Values and select DNOSI and click OK
5. Click View Report
6. From the client manchine na-cli-01, rigth click on start and click run. Type calc to open calculator
7. Close calc
8. Repeat step 6 and 7 five times
9. From Control Panel open Configuration manager icon
10. From actions tab click Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle and click Run Now
and click OK
12. Change to SCCM server, na-sccm-01, open Windows power shell from task bar
13. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\ConfigMgr 2012 Toolkit R2\ServerTools and type runmetersumm.exe CM_NAC
14. On the Configuration Manager console, click Monitoring workspace, click Reporting
and then Reports
15. Click Software Metering and rigth click on report Computers that have run specific
metered software program and click Run
16. Click Values next to Rule Name
17. Select CalcRule and click OK
18. Click Values next to Month (1-12), select 8 and click OK
Task 5: View and run the reports from web
1. On the SCCM Server, click Start and then Internet Explorer
2. Type http://na-sccm-01/Reports and click Enter. Provide the credentials (dnosi\administrator and Pa$$w0rd) and click OK.
