Unit Learning Goal: Student will be able to compare structure & analyze transport of materials into and out of prokaryotic & eukaryotic cells by accurately explaining the role of proteins & ATP.

Lab Learning Goal(s):

1. To investigate diffusion through student selected experimental setups.

2. To investigate osmosis through student selected experimental setups.

3. To predict the movement of water in experimental setups.

What are the Osmotic Concentrations?

Hypertonic – higher solute concentration and lower water concentration

Hypotonic – lower solute concentration and higher water concentration

Isotonic – equal solute concentration

How to do an Osmosis Problem?

Let’s observe a problem being solved.

Write out the steps for solving a problem in your own words.

Let’s apply to four sample problems.
