To model plate structure subjected in plane force using Finite Element software. 2. To find the maximum stress and displacement of plate using Finite Element software. LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of laboratory session, student should be able to: 1. Model a 2D plate structure using Finite Element software (Patran/Nastran) 2. Dicretize the model into several elements and nodes (meshing) 3. Apply constraints and loads to the plate structure 4. Perform linear static analysis to the plate 5. Find the maximum deformation and stress in the plate. THEORY In this lab session you will be modeling a plate subjected to in plane forces.
