Our next screening will be on September 7th, 2018 at 7:15pm at the Welcome Center. The movie we will be presenting is “Priceless.” It will be an evening to reflect on the relevant and sensitive social issue regarding human trafficking and exploitation. A representative of Thrive New England, will introduce the film. Thrive New England’s mission is to prevent the sexual exploitation and trafficking of New England minors and to provide restorative care to trafficked teens. We hope you will join us.

ITALIAN CULTURAL FESTIVALSeptember 22, 2018

at 12:00pm

The Festival will officially open at 12:00pm. Groups are adviced to arrive at the Shrine between 11:00am and 12:00pm.

The Festival will include both cultural and religious events: Italian food, dances and songs; a roundtable on the life of St. Padre Pio, a concert in his honor, and a presentation on the history of Italian-Americans in the United States. Kevin Sullivan will present and direct “A Musical Portrait of St. Padre Pio”. Educational and fun activities for children will be available and much more. The Festival will conclude with a solemn Mass in honor of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina at 6:00pm with the veneration of a first class relic of St. Padre Pio. Veneration of first class relics will be available.

The epidemic of drug use has hit this area hard. There have been many deaths from drug use and for parents, siblings and friends the loss is devastating. We have a support group for those who have lost someone to this horrible disease.

For the third time, the National Shrine of Our Lady of la Salette is honored to host the Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda. They will be performing on October 18th in the Welcome Center at 7:00pm. The Bishops have written the document, Faithful Citizenship, asking us to focus on Catholic Principles and the parties and/or Candidates. Once again we will host Fr. Richard Gribble, CSC from Stonehill College to help us make a good conscience decision in regard to voting. A free will offering will be taken.

SILVER ROSEKNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

September 30, 2018at the 12:10PM Mass

Each year, from early March through mid-December, Silver Roses are stewarded by Knights of Columbus councils along routes from Canada to Mexico. Every stop the Silver Rose makes throughout the pilgrimage is a rosary-centered occasion for Knights, parishioners and community members to pray for respect for life, for the spiritual renewal of each nation, and for the ad-vancement of the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Join us for a brief outdoor ceremony after Mass.

CELEBRATING THE 100th ANNIVERSARY of the Birth of Leonard Bernstein

An occasion to reflect on the religious works of Massachusetts native, Leonard Bernstein, including his “The Mass”. 8 Days Retreat: “Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius” September 23-30

Presented by Fr. Flavio Gillio, m.s.

Based on both Sacred Scripture and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the retreat offers individual spiritual direction in an environment of extended silence and prayer. Retreatants meet once a day, individually, with the spiritual director, to reflect on their prayer experiences and to probe how God is active and working in their lives. From Sunday 7:00pm to Sunday after breakfast. Suggested donation: $550 per person. Registration and Deposit required.
