It is aimed at people of all ages, but especially young people from the cantons of Desamparados, La Unión, and Curridabat who are at social and economic risk and inhabit some of the country’s most densely populated cantons. La Libertad Park is managed from a social inclusion and human security approach to improve the quality of life of the neighboring communities. Focusing on their economic, social and environmental development, providing opportunities for technical, artistic, and cultural education. Our work is carried out in four program areas –the environmental area, the artistic area, the MSME area, and the community development and promotion area – through 30 regular programs serving more than 17,000 people per year. http://parquelalibertad.org/docs/informe2015-gest ion-administrativa.pdf What do we offer? CETAV offers three technical education programs certified by the INA (Instituto Nacional de Aprendizaje, the national learning institute), with a duration of five trimesters at 40 hours per week. All who are interested can apply for a study subsidy through the Ministry of Labor and Social Security’s EMPLEATE Program. Our technical programs are as follows: Digital Image and Sound Postproduction and Editing Technician. Web Design and Development Technician. Digital 3D (Three Dimensional) Animation Technician. Each of these works through four basic curriculum lines: Technical education and competency building for the market. Training in English as a key tool for competitiveness. Training in business management for project and company administration and management with an eye to developing their own enterprises. Education in cross-cutting aspects such as the development of creative and critical thinking and reinforcement of soft skills and life skills . Who are our students? CETAV’s priority public is youths between the ages of 17 and 24 in the prioritized cantons of La Libertad: Desamparados, La Unión, and Curridabat.
