Main Street La Junta Community Input Feedback for Main Street

On May 22 and May 23, La Junta Main Street held a series of meetings to ask for

community input. The focus of the input was on downtown La Junta:

What does the community want to see in the downtown?

What types of specific businesses would be great for La Junta?

How about events, facilities, amenities and activities?

Are there specific projects or area of focus for Main Street moving forward?

The conversation focused around the four pillars of Main Street:

Design, Organization, Promotion and Economic Vitality

Results of the feedback The community members heard a short presentation about Main Street and then

started brainstorming around the four pillars. The organization pillar was not included

in the conversation as it was not pertinent. A long list of possibilities was considered

and discussed, and then each group chose the most important areas for Main Street to

focus time and attention. Some specific business ideas were also captured. The

complete list is appended to the end of this report.

information, dates, and volunteers to begin addressing the most important priorities

identified by the community. Many of these issues will require partnerships, resources

not currently available, and often will need a longer period of time to complete. That

Work Plan will offer some additional detail.

Ongoing input and feedback are encouraged, and if you have any
