1. Before our    meeting   Today we’re going to get ready for our next lesson on zoom.  Visit this section in the British Council website: Learn English. It’s bigger than a mouse.  We’re going to learn a chant to compare animals. The title is It’s bigger than a mouse.  When you follow the link, you’ll see this. Click on Preparation.  

  

Play the game. Match the words to the pictures. Remember to click on FINISH to check your score.

  Look at the pictures. Read the words again.  Try to remember them.   When you have learned them, watch the video with the chant.

Watch it one more time and try to sing along. Have you learned the chant? We’ll sing it during our next zoom meeting.  Now, play the game. Choose the write word.   

   Watch the video again and focus on the whale.   What does it say about the whale?  The largest creature in the world’s a whale  It has the most enormous head and tail  It blows the highest spout And it’s got the biggest mouth  But you’ll never see one going for a sail.   Look at the red words. Work in your folder.You can copy this or print the last page. Date    Circle.

 ● They are nouns / verbs / adjectives. 

 They are used to compare one thing to the rest of a group. In this case, they compare the 

whale to the rest of the animals.  They are called superlative adjectives.  

● Many are formed by adj + ed / adj + est / adj + s ● Others are formed by adding a complete word before the adjective more / most ● Before the adjectives, we usually use the / one / a  

 Look at these examples.

  Now, Get your book !  Next class, we are going to learn more about animals. And give our opinion about them. So, have a look at                                         page 14 in your STUDENT'S BOOK . Read it carefully before our meeting.     

 We are going to listen in class, but it’s a good idea to read the activity before class.

 We are going to give our opinion in class but, again, it’s a good idea to be ready to talk. So, think:  What, in your opinion is... 

the most interesting animal ?   

the most dangerous animal?   

the most endangered animal?   

the most important animal to protect?

  Now, read this carefully on page 15 in your STUDENT’S BOOK..  

  Go to page 192. There’s a dictionary there. Find these words and complete them with the missing suffix. Next                                     class, we are going to listen to them and check their meanings. So, don’t forget them.
