Adopted in 1992, thered flag symbolizes the
valor and courage. Thesun symbolizes peace
and wealth, and theimage yurta - a symbolof the country and the
world. Emblem of Kyrgyzstan
The coat of arms has a circular form and mostly
bears the color blue, as light blue is the Kyrgyzcolor of courage and generosity (as on the flagand coat of arms of Kazakhstan). To the leftand right of the coat of arms, wheat and cottonare displayed. In the upper part, the name ofthe country appears in Kyrgyz "" (Kyrgyz Respublikasy).

History
The earliest human occupation in what is now Kyrgyzstandates back some 200,000-300,000 years, according to thearchaeological evidence. It is unlikely that the people whoknapped those early stone tools were the direct ancestorsof modern day Kyrgyz, however.

The people of Kyrgyzstan come from a proud tradition as nomadichorsemen and warriors of the Central Asian steppe. Once the rulers of avast empire in the middle of Central Asia, they have been under thethumb of one foreign people or another since the time of Genghis Khan.With the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Kyrgyz got a long-awaitedchance at self-rule.
