Farewell and Welcome!

We are sad to announce Tracy Scott, our Director of Care will be retiring at the end of the summer. Tracy has been with us almost back to the opening of KWCC and has worked for both of our homes. Shortly after arriving, she went on a life changing journey (Eden training) and immediately wanted to spread the many benefits of Eden. Tracy has been the driving force behind this philosophy and wants the very best quality of life for the individuals we serve. She has kept us on track

to achieve our Eden certification, the first home in NB to accomplish this. Although Tracy wants to downsize and spend more time with her family / grandchildren, we are very happy that she wants to continue the journey of Eden for our homes. Tracy will be working part time training and coaching staff in Eden as well as helping out on our new Eden project in Millidgeville. We wish Tracy all the best and look forward to continuing the great journey

we are on.

I am pleased to welcome both Tammy Allaby and Jane Logan to our family. They will both be taking on the role of Director of Care / House Leader

over the summer.

Tammy was born in Fredericton, NB but grew up in beautiful Cambridge Narrows. She earned her diploma in Nursing from the Saint John School of Nursing and three years later graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Dalhousie University. Tammy started her career in long term care. She worked private duty, acute care in Fredericton and then spent 9 years working in the Cardiac Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital before happily returning to long term care in 2008 at Kings Way Care Centre where she was the Nurse

Manager on KV Neighborhood.

Farewell and Welcome!

In 2010, Tammy became Clinical Manager for Kings Way and Kennebec Manor,

working closely with the Director of Care in managing the two homes.

In 2011, Tammy began a new journey, transitioning into a House Leader at Kennebec Manor. She has embraced person centered care and the Eden philosophy and is dedicated to making each day the best it can be for the

elders that call Kings Way and Kennebec home.

Away from work, Tammy is very busy with her family and can usually be found at one of the local rinks where her daughter and son both play hockey

almost year round.

Jane is joining our family this week and will be starting her career with us at KWCC. Jane’s career in Nursing has spanned a variety of settings over the thirty years. She completed her Nursing education at the Saint John School of Nursing, Dalhousie University and University of New Brunswick, earning her BN and MN. She has worked in acute care, post-secondary education, and research environments at the Saint John Regional Hospital and UNB Saint John.

Recent experience with WorkSafeNB provided Jane the opportunity to work with the long term care sector, addressing occupational health and safety issues in client care. She looks forward to sharing her expertise with care providers at both homes and is interested in further understanding how the Eden philosophy contributes to both a meaningful day for elders and staff. Jane is also very excited about being part of such a progressive environment

at Kings Way and Kennebec.

Congratulations to Tracy and Tammy and a warm welcome to Jane!

Gardening at the QPlex

This year, our residents are enjoying getting out weekly to garden at the Community

Garden at the QPlex. We have two raised planters that have been donated by the Town

of Quispamsis. They are filled to the brim with various types of tomatoes, peppers,

zucchini, cucumbers, yellow & green beans and herbs. Special thanks to our bus drivers –

Brian and Larry who take us there.

Recently, Finance Minister Blaine Higgs

and Mayor Murray Driscoll dropped by

to assist with some planting.

In this photo is Mabel Crease, Doris

Hoyt, Mayor Driscoll, Jean Mountain,

Evelyn Gorman and Minister Higgs.

In 2011, Tammy began a new journey, transitioning into a House Leader at Kennebec Manor. She has embraced person centered care and the Eden
