DC motors
maxon DC motors are high-quality DC
motors, equipped with powerful permanent
magnets. Centerpiece of the motor is the
worldwide patented ironless rotor. This
provides the latest technology for com-
pact, powerful and low-inertia drives. The
program is supplemented by - for these
motors optimized - precision gears for
different speeds and high torque.
High-resolution analog and digital tacho-
meters grant you - in conjunction with
the latest electronics - dynamic control
systems.
The proven concept CLL (Capacitor Long
Life) extends the life of the motors consi-
derably.
Specifications: output power: 0,3 W to 250 W
maximum speed: up to 22.000 rpm
motor diameter: 6 mm to 65 mm
neodymium magnets
brushes made of graphite-/precious
metal
sleeve-/ball bearings
A-max / RE-max motors
This DC motor range delivers top perfor-
mance and convincing quality at budget
prices.
The A-max range uses AlNiCo-magnets and
offers six different motors with diameters
ranging from 12 to 32 mm.
Versions equipped with brushes made
of precious metals and graphite, sleeve
and ball bearings, and various shafts
are available. The series, which won the
Innovation Award 1996, reduces costs by
up to 20 % with comparable performance
and offers maximum flexibility for the
assembly of gearboxes, tachometers and
encoders.
The RE-max motor has the same design as
the award-winning A-max maxon motor
program. The RE-max engine delivers,
thanks to neodymium magnets, which are
some of the strongest permanent magnets
available today, even more power than
the A-max motor. The use of these more
expensive magnets raises the costs of the
motors only slightly.

Linear drives
The SKA Compact Series combines the high
performance of the Direct Drive technology
with an extruded aluminum profile and the
best accessories to a complete plug and
play drive.
Of course, the motor components are also
available as a „frameless“ design for the
installation in in-house developments.
The ironcore synchronous servo motor
with NdFeB magnet has a pronounced high
power density and is therefore ideal for
applications where the shortest possible
cycle times must be achieved.
Another advantage of linear motors is
the total abolishment of the backlash and
elasticity of conventional drive systems.
This means a stiffer drive system at lower
cost and smaller size.
The SKA series offers a wide range of
applications for all types of horizontal,
vertical or linear motion systems.
Specifications: exceptional performance
highest system availability
cost reduction

backlash and elasticity in the system,
so a stiff drive system in less space and
weight, and better availability - all in all
lower costs.
Both „frameless“ designs for the direct
integration of the motors in the machine
design, and housing types with all ne-
cessary parts such as bearings, feedback
system, brakes, shafts or hollow shafts
for space-saving mounting on the driven
machine elements are available.

Tritex actuators
Tritex actuators - supplied by AC or DC -
represent an all-electric actuator solution
for moving and/or positioning mechanical
devices in a large variety of industrial or
military grade applications. Tritex actu-
ators eliminate the need for pneumatic
and hydraulic cylinders while improving
position performance, reducing cycle times
and eliminating the maintenance associ-
ated with fluid power devices. Ball screw
mechanisms, and separately mounted
gear reducers are also a thing of the past
because rotary to linear converters or
mechanical reducers are integrated in the
design.
The Tritex series of electric actuators
combine a brushless servo motor, servo
amplifier and position controller in a
single industrial grade enclosure. This eli-
minates both the external servo amplifier
and the expensive and failure prone cables
associated with a typical servo system.
The panel space for a separately mounted
amplifier and installation of that amplifier
are no longer necessary.
Specifications: long travel life
continuous force: up to 16,4 kN
stroke: up to 0,6 m
velocity: up to 800 mm/s
protection class: IP54

Linear actuators
The linear actuators from Exlar provide
a cost effective solution for replacing
ball screw actuators. This compact design
combines Exlar‘s patented roller screw
technology with an integral brushless
servo motor for medium to high perfor-
mance motion control applications. Their
design provide a smaller package with
higher speed and load capacity than ball
screws and other rotary to linear conver-
sions. Exlar linear actuators also offer 5
times the travel life of similarly sized ball
screw actuators. Selection of the proper
feedback configuration allows these
actuators to be powered by nearly every
brand of brushless motor amplifier on the
market. This flexibility allows them to be
incorporated into the highest performance
single and multi-axis motion control
systems in use today. In applications
varying from food and beverage packaging,
to multi-axis turning centers to air-craft
assembly, these actuators show incredible
performance and durability.
Specifications: long travel life
continuous force: up to 88,9 kN
stroke: up to 1.200 mm
velocity: up to 1.500 mm/s
protection class: IP65
housings made of anodized aluminium

Planetary roller screws
Planetary Roller Screws convert rotary
torque into linear motion, in a similar
manner as acme screws or ball screws.
But, unlike those devices, roller screws
can carry heavy loads for thousands of
hours in the most arduous conditions. This
makes roller screws the ideal choice for
demanding, continuous-duty applications.
The difference is in the roller screw‘s
design for transmitting forces. Multiple
threaded helical rollers, which are manuf-
actured with precisely the same thread
angle as the nut, are assembled in a plane-
tary arrangement around a threaded shaft,
which converts a motor‘s rotary motion
into linear movement of the shaft or nut.
So Exlar‘s planetary roller screw designs
provides many more contact points than
possible on comparably sized ball screws.
The results are higher stiffness, higher
load capacity and 15 times the travel life
of similarly sized ball screws.
Roller screws offer a perfect replacement
for hydraulics because of the load and
cycle capability.
Specifications: dynamic loads: up to 42.000 kg
max. speed: up to 5.000 rpm
diameter: 8 mm to 80 mm

LinMot linear motors
Linear motors
LinMot linear motors employ a direct
electromagnetic principle. Electromagnetic
force provides direct linear movement
without the use of cams, gears, belts, or
other mechanical devices. The motor con-
sists of only two parts: the slider and the
stator. The slider is a precision assembly
that consists of a stainless steel tube,
which is filled with neodymium magnets,
that has threaded attachment holes on
each end. The stator, consisting of coils,
the bearing for the slider, position sensors
and a microprocessor board, is designed
for use in harsh industrial environments.
The standard motors are available in 15
different motor configurations with peak
forces of from 33 to 1.024 N. A total of
over 300 standard motor specifications
with stroke lengths of up to
1.500 mm are available. In addition, the
module design of LinMot motors allows cu-
stom designs even in moderate quantities.

Custom-made spur gears
halstrup-walcher is a manufacturer of
spur gears in the power range of 20 Ncm
to 100 Nm. The gearboxes can be combined
with motors from various manufacturers.
Almost all drives are also available as ac-
tuators with limit switches and potentio-
meters for position feedback. From a small
number of basic transmission types thanks
to the modular system a large number of
customer-specific drive solutions can be
realized.
Actuators are used to control movements.
The predetermined angle of rotation is
adjusted on the output shaft in a given
time. Upon reaching the target position,
the motor is switched off by limit swit-
ches thus preventing mechanical locking
and overload. Optionally the position of
the output shaft can be determined on a
potentiometer and transmitted to a master
controller.
Complete and customized linear drive systems
Linear drives produced by halstrup-wal-
cher are also constructed as spur gears,
whereby the linear movement is achieved
by a rack. Optionally the linear actuators
are also available with limit switches
and potentiometers for position sensing.
halstrup-walcher is a specialist for custo-
mized solutions and therefore concentra-
tes on the production of small and medium
sized volumed series.
The linear actuators of the series LPE72
and LPE4310C offer a complete solution for
linear lifting movements.
The actuation of the LPE72 ensues di-
rectly by an electrical analog signal. The
LPE4310C is a bus-compatible linear posi-
tioning system with an integrated absolute
measuring system.
Intelligent positioning systems
halstrup-walcher develops and manuf-
actures positioning systems with a high
degree of integration and intelligence of
their own for the positioning of control
and auxiliary axes. The integrated electro-
nic control unit facilitates the control of
the machine significantly. External devices
for the motor control are not required,
since they are already integrated in the
housing.
Due to the absolute position detection no
proximity or limit switches, no additional
pulse or absolute encoder are required on
the machine.
This are the different product series:
These series are distinguished by their
motors, their design and the type of
control (Profibus DP, CANopen, DeviceNet
or analog interface), so the customer can
choose the optimal and most cost effective
device for his application.

Chain actuators
Mingardi chain drives are inexpensive
and extremely robust, reliable and stylish
drive motors. As all other Mingardi drives
they impress with an optimal value for
money relation.
The 6 different types of chain motors -
Micro S, Micro L, Micro XL, Micro Kit, Micro
P and Micro 02 – provide for almost every
application a suitable solution for both a
supply voltage of 230 V AC, and 24 V DC.
The motors are available in standard
colors white, silver or black and can of
course also be painted in any other availa-
ble RAL color.
Specifications: high thrust and tensile force: up to 400 N
strokes: up to 835 mm
supply voltage: 230 V AC / 24 V DC
flexible mounting options
optimal price/performance ratio
Rack actuators
The electric rack and pinion actuators of
the type Mingardi System 1, System 0+ and
System 2 are specifically designed drives
for the utilization on large domes and win-
dows. The drives can be used in single or
tandem version. These systems are extre-
mely reliable and versatile. Two different
gears allow different forces and speeds.
Current limits ensure precise shutdown of
the drives. Final position stop functions,
group switching applications, parallel or
signal contacts are possible.
Specifications: high thrust and tensile force: up to 1.000 N
stroke length: up to 1.000 mm
supply voltage: 230 V AC / 24 V DC
flexible mounting options
optimal price/performance ratio
Linear actuators
The electrical linear drives D4, D8, D20,
D16, D30 and Euro 1+ work quickly, quietly
and reliably. Thanks to its compact size
and low weight, the series is intended
for the drive of sun shades, domes and
windows. The drives are made of a special
single-phase motor with capacitor and
integrated hollow rotor shaft. The linear
drive is provided with a special easy
gliding nut and an adequate lubricant
reserve. The drives have a standard relay
for group circuit installed. The engine is
turned off in the end position by the inte-
grated limit switches. The housing tube of
the drive is made of aluminum and has an
anodized oxide coating.
Specifications: high thrust and tensile force: up to 2.000 N
stroke length: up to 500 mm
supply voltage: 230 V AC / 24 V DC

Zeromax
Zeromax gearboxes can be used as a pri-
mary or secondary transmission for many
machines. Using a lever the speed is infi-
nitely adjustable from 0 up to a quarter of
the input speed under full load. So output
speeds from 0 to 400 rpm can be obtained.
The product range includes versions with
direction reversal.
Zeromax transmissions are produced in
five sizes and provide continuous torques
from 1,3 to 22 Nm. To meet every require-
ment needed, in addition to the standard
Zeromax gears, other gearboxes, motors
and adapters for C-flanges are available.
Zeromax gear can be purchased with
standard electric motors or connected by
the customer to any energy source with a
maximum speed of 2.000 rpm.
R + W bellows couplings Zeromax gearboxes
R+W backlash-free bellows couplings
R+W bellows couplings are used to
guarantee the backlash-free transmissi-
on of torque, speed or position in drive
systems. The precision-made couplings
are backlash-free, torsionally stiff, have
no attrition and low inertia. Different
versions of clamping hubs are available.
These couplings are mainly used in servo
technology.
Specifications: rated torque: 0,01 to 10.000 Nm
temparature: -30 °C to +120 °C
no maintenance necessary
absolutely no backlash
torsionally stiff
optional pluggable
optional precise-balanced
R+W elastomer couplings
R+W produces elastomeric couplings which
offer these features: vibration damping,
backlash-free, plug-in, offset compen-
sation and electrically insulation. These
couplings, whose compensation element
is the elastomer ring, offer a variety of
clamping hub designs for all possible shaft
types and with different damping rates.
The precompression of the elastomeric
ring ensures no backlash. Further products
from R+W include safety couplings, drive
shafts and backlash-free measurement
gearings.
Specifications: rated torque: 2 to 2.000 Nm
temparature: -30 °C to +120 °C
