Clothing

The Kwakiutl

males wore

clothing made of

breech cloths.

The females wore

skirts made of

cedar bark.

Clothing

The Kwakiutl Indians don’t usually paint

their faces, but sometimes for special

occasions they paint their hair. During cold

weather seasons the Kwakiutl men and

woman wear tunics and long moccasin's to

stay warm.

Arts & Crafts

The Kwakiutls mostly made

wooden art like woodcarvings.

The Kwakiutls also made

baskets. Other wooden art is

there wooden masks. There

most valuable artwork is there

totem poles. The totem pole

tells the history of the family

who made it.
