Impact of the pollution abatement measure taken on conservation of natural
resources and on the cost of production.
Pollution control measures and plantations have helped to a great extent in
conservation of natural resources like water, soil, air, flora and fauna. The financial
impact on the cost of production due to the expenditure on pollution abatement
measures is approximately Rs 10.22 per tonne (Rupees 43,27,38,059 is the
Environmental expenses for 2019-20) of coal produced.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PART-H
Additional measures/ investment proposals for environmental protection
including abatement of pollution, prevention of pollution.
Pollution Control Measures taken by the Area for Air Pollution:
Introduction of surface miner almost eliminates the requirement of drilling and
blasting in coal and further crushing of coal in crushers.
All Drill machines are provided with a Dust extractor equipped with fabric filter
and wet drilling arrangement.
All Departmental Mobile water sprinklers for haul roads are equipped with Mist
Spray Sprinkling System.

infrastructure, along colony & approach roads & around residential infrastructure
which acts as effective dust & noise barrier.
Mechanical Vacuum Air cleaning machines are used for dust control in
workshops.
LPG connections are provided to employees restricting burning of coal for
domestic use.
Thick Green belt has been developed around residential area.
For monitoring of Ambient Air quality, round the clock, Continuous Ambient
quality Monitoring Station has been installed along with continuous LED display
of Air Quality parameters in front of Project Office from CAAQMS.
