In order to bring in behavioral change towards use of toilets, the Central

Government announced allotment of 25% of funds under Swachh

Bharat Abhiyan to campaigning in rural areas.

Under the Abhiyan, a committee had suggested us to allot 25% of funds to

bring behavioural change among people in using toilets.

Taking in view of the reviews from 'National Review of Rural Sanitation and

Drinking Water' , the ministers at the central level have urged the regional

governments to figure out the kind of technologies that can be used to ensure proper

sanitation in areas facing water shortage.

To avoid health issues caused by arsenic and chemic elements, he has urged

the method of withdrawal of water from surface rather than underground.

Under the schemes of National Rural Drinking Water programme, the policy

intends to make it mandatory for all states (barring hilly ones) to take up at

least one surface water-based piped water supply scheme.

The Kurud Minister in Chhattisgarh has always worked for the success

of the schemes for avoiding open defecation.

The whole state of Chhattisgarh is making collective efforts to attain the

target of an open defecation-free (ODF) India by 2019 and providing water

to all village households by 2022.

The Kurud minister in Chhattisgarh has urged the ministers of

Panchayat department to take the actions in line with the other states.
