The Brand /

Kukka™ was established in 2010 as a British brand by Rona Meyuchas K.

Kukka™ products are developed from sustainable materials and cultural behaviors; these are taken into account during the design process. We admire craftsmanship, aesthetics, and functionality.

All this is reflected throughout design and production process: the production, technology methods, minimalism of materials and components used for both products and packaging.

Our products are designed and made in response to actual day to day living experiences; as we observe, listen, feel as well as innovate and design our products with confidence.

Our Quality /

Quality is of great importance to us as the designers of our products. Every single item is assembled and packed on our premises. Our products are made by some of the best craftsmen in Tel-Aviv, Sweden and the UK. Our manufacturers comply with ISO standards. We use the finest possible materials and components and where possible, use sustainably sourced FSC timber and paper.

Our products are designed and made to last and we hope you will enjoy using them.

Bespoke /

Our products can be made specially made to order.

Some of our clients are architects and lighting designers; we are very happy to look at custom commissions where bespoke finishes, dimensions or configurations are required.

About the Creative Director /

Israeli-British designer Rona Meyuchas K started her exciting and multi-faceted career in Italy, after obtaining a Masters in Industrial Design from Milan’s Scuola Politecnica di Design.

She began working for various industrial design consultancies in Milan and London, overseeing design and manufacturing for companies such as Leucos, CatellanItalia, M&S and Isometrix Lighting & Design. This experience encouraged her to create her first label, RMK design Office, for which she still works today as a design consultant. The first batch of RMK products was released in East London in 2007.

Recognition followed swiftly. Indeed, later in 2007, the Israeli government awarded Rona Recognition of excellence in design.

In 2008, Rona featured in the second edition of Box 40/2, a book edited by Fiera Milano featuring emerging young designers aged under 40, who have contributed to Italian companies.

In 2009 and 2010, RMK Design Office was selected, for two consecutive years, to represent British design at the 100% British Design events held during the Salone del Mobile in Milano curated by Paul Smith, Moroso and La Rinascente.

Today, as well as working as a freelance journalist and lecturer, Rona focuses mainly on kukka, a sustainable design brand which she founded in 2010. kukka products are stocked in over 50 retailers worldwide such as Paul Smith shops London, La Rinascente in Milan, Loods5 in the Netherland and arkitekturmuseet in Stockholm.

Kukka products have also been featured in various publications such as Vogue Italia, Elle Decoration, Wallpaper, Domus, Interni and Home&Garden , as well as in design events and fairs such as Salone del mobile in Milan, Tokyo Design week, Vienna Design Week and London design week.

Felucca

Felucca is a lampshade to be mounted directly on a suspended light bulb, made out of flat decorative flameproof fabric and snap fasteners. Fabric fibres create a soft and elegant appearance, glowing smoothly around the light bulb and casting a stylish light on the surrounding environment.

The felucca shade is designed to be modular and so larger lampshades can be made by adding one or more Felucca together, changing the shape, direction and size of the light cast.
