KSOM conducts regular MDPs for both young andmiddle level executives for various private and publicsector organizations. While such programmesdisseminate management education among a farwider and diverse audience, they also enrich KSOM

through the rich experience and exposure such anaudience brings on board.

These programmes are designed carefully indiscussion with the senior management of compa-nies to cater to the specific needs of their respectiveorganizations. They are a combination of classroomand activity based learning, i ncluding experientiallearning conducted through various outdoor games.

KSOM’s MDPs cover a wide range of topics such asFinancial Management, Strategic and GeneralManagement, Business Communication, CorporateEthics, Team Building and Competency Development, including niche areas such as Real Estate Marketing.

    Management DevelopmentProgramme (MDP)

In order to ensure that students have someone toturn to for expert advice, KSOM has implemented amentoring programme across all its courses. Everystudent is assigned a faculty mentor who isprimarily responsible for the academic well-beingof the student. The mentor-mentee interactionsare tracked every month by the University toensure that the programme is rigorously imple-mented. The topic of discussion can range frommentee’s attendance status to specific areas ofdifficulty in a particular subject. However, as thenature of interaction is mostly i nformal, away fromthe classrooms and any other formal academic setup, in most cases mentors also don the role of anadvisor taking particular interest in the overallwellbeing of the student in the campus.

Assessement center helps students identify theirweak areas and work on strengthening them. Eachstudent is carefully tested on various areas – itincludes both soft and academic skills – and thenscored. Each scorecard is shared with therespective mentor so that the student can getfocused attention of the mentor.

To foster multi-dimensional learning that goesbeyond the traditional classroom based pedagogy,KSOM regularly organizes various seminar talks forthe students and faculty members.

    12/12

The KIIT School of Management has a glorious past. Rapid

progress through the years has been a part of its legacy. The

faculty and staff at KSOM are committed to nurture the young

business leaders of tomorrow, inculcating in them greater

sensitivity to workplace and ability to compete in the emerging

era of knowledge economy. However, while enhancing the

competencies of our students, we keep reminding them their

societal responsibilities and the importance of balancing social

and economic interests. This, we believe, is going to be impor-tant in improving the relevance of management

education in the society. To make this happen, we try to

address all critical issues related to people, process, and

technology in our school. At another level, we are also

continuously working to strengthen our linkages with the

industry and expand academic cooperation with various

national and international institutions. To sum it up, KSOM has

been relentlessly pursuing the cause of Academic Excellence

and has set lofty goals for itself, which, looking at our legacy,

we are sure to achieve. The quest for excellence continues.
