Inspiration Why Wedding Photography Inspires Us!

I have always loved weddings! The glow in the bride’s mother’s eyes, the father walking his baby girl down the aisle, the love seen in the maid of honor as she watches her childhood friend given away to the groom, every moment of a wedding is one that should be remembered. We all know how fast the wedding day flies by, so my job is to freeze those memories to hang onto and hold closely for life! Not only am I intrigued by each bride’s choices of color, décor, dress, and themes, but I have yet to be to a wedding where I do not let a tear drop during the parent dances with the bride and groom! The essence and the meaning of two lives being joined together has me so inspired to help capture the most important day of your life, so that you can keep them and share them forever! I love hearing stories of how the couple met, or their honeymoon destination plans, or the details of the bride’s something old, new, borrowed, and blue. I’m fascinated by the diversity I see in dress choice, hair-do’s, traditions, venues, flowers, shoes, and ALL of the tiny details! At each wedding I see fresh new ideas that further excite me to come up with even more creative ways to enhance every wedding in its own unique style! I love to incorporate personalities into the photos, and I’m sure to be motivated by your vision, even from our first consultation together! From the toasts and speeches, to the family you haven’t seen in years, to the way I catch the groom looking at the bride, there is nothing better than celebrating an occasion as monumental as the day you say, “I do” !!!

For any additional help this may provide you, I will describe a general synopsis of how Jacob and I usually run things on our end, for each wedding. We plan to arrive to the wedding two hours before the ceremony begins, whether this be to the ceremony

location, or the bride’s dress up location, etc. We will both be taking photos of the bride & bridesmaids getting ready, the groom & groomsmen if possible, the venue, the dress, the flowers, the accessories, etc. If feasible, Jacob can usually meet the gentlemen

where they are getting ready, and I will stay to photograph the ladies.

Shortly before the wedding begins, I will need to briefly speak with whomever will be officiating the ceremony. He or she will let me know where I can and cannot be at the location, during the ceremony. If there is a wedding coordinator, I would like to

shortly meet with them as well.

Ceremony will take place. After recessional, or receiving line, etc. we will be ready to begin family photos, if desired. I will need one “point person” who will be able to help me call out specific names of family members during photos. I generally like to do both grandparents and children first, so if we could have them stick around and be present right away, then we can dismiss them to the reception just as quickly. After family photos have finished, I will then use the remainder of the time to take photos of the

bridal party, and of the bride and groom. This is where we have some fun!

When we get to the reception, I will briefly speak with the DJ or MC, just to get an idea of how everything will run, and the flow of things. If you have not reserved two place settings for Jacob and I to eat, then we will generally find a few empty chairs off to the side, unless you direct us elsewhere. We will capture all the key moments and traditions, as well as some candid photos of you and your guests, dancing! Once we’re sure we got all the photos we need, and as long as you do not have a planned exit that we

have already agreed upon, then that will be the end of the evening for us.
