Given a diesel engine output of 90 % MCR and allowing for a constant supply of the board network during sea operation and 15 % sea margin, the vessel’s service speed at 4,70 m draught will amount to 18 kn. The speed will, according to Yard’s choice, be measured by means of GPS or a measured mile during the trial trip, a wind force of below 2 Beaufort scale, calm, deep, wide currentless water and a smooth hull provided.

1000 HULL

The hull will be made of shipbuilding steel according to the regulations of the classification society. The hull will be completely welded. All welds within tanks, engine room and open decks will be continuous. Chain intermittent welding will be applied in dry rooms and within superstructures. Welds of main structures will be x-rayed in accordance with the regulations of the classification society and in consultation with the classification surveyor. Welding and mounting procedures as well as work tolerances according to the "Fertigungsstandard der Deutschen Schiffbauindustrie".

Double bottom in engine room with floor plates at every frame.

1120 Shell Plating

Dimensions of shell plating according to the regulations of the classification society with strengthenings in way of penetrations and shell openings where required. Horizontal construction with frames and stringers in compliance with the regulations of the classification society.

Aft stem in welded steel construction; shaped so as to minimize propeller-induced vibratons. Horizontal construction, full bottom plates at every frame. Transom with vertical stiffening.

FMGCH type cables or sim. will be used for monitoring, communication and control systems.

Junction boxes, equipment, instruments etc. will be marked and numbered in accordance with the design

7690 Cable Conduits

Cables will be laid on perforated cable racks or inside of perforated horizontal cable tubs, both made of

sheet metal. In case of using horizontal cable tubs and cable pipes no clamping is necessary.

In locations where cables are liable to mechanical damage the cable conduits will be protected by sheet

metal covers.

Watertight bulkhead penetrations in accordance with the rules.

Cables for echo sounding transducers, radio antennas etc. and cables for the general ship's network will be

laid inside a common cable tray but will be clamped separately from the ship's general network.

7700 Lighting

7710 Main Lighting

All parts of the vessel will be well lighted, in general by PL lights. Public rooms and passenger cabins will

generally be illuminated by fluorescent lights i.w.o. windows and concealed areas. Down lights and halogen

spotlights as required.

Lighting conditions in working areas according to the regulations.

Control of lighting circuits in public rooms from distribution boards.

Lighting circuits in the bar / lounge will be controlled by dimmers.

Decorative lights will be installed in public areas, i.e. restaurant, lounge etc.

7720 Emergency Lighting

The emergency lighting system is a part of the general lighting system and will be fed from the emergency

switchboard (ESB).

In case of black-out an uninterruptible power supply unit will feed predetermined

emergency lighting loops.

7730 Low Location Level Lighting System

A comprehensive Low Location Level Lighting (LLLL) System will be provided for emergency escape

routing.

General

The vessel’s operating concept will be based on an integrated navigation and command system concentrated

on the bridge.

Navigational tasks such as

- position fixing - route planning - radar navigation - collision avoidance - automatic track control, particularly for harbour approach, rivers, coastal areas and open sea are covered by this system.

8100 Navigation and Signal Lights

Lights will be fed from 230 V network, with emergency feeding from emergency switchboard 230 V via switchboard of navigation lights. 2 navigation searchlights 2.000 W on compass deck, with electrically operated remote control on the bridge. 1 daylight signal lamp 24 V, fed by 1 plug box each on bridge PS and SB 1 morse lamp on signal mast and operated from calipers in bridge wings and wheelhouse. 1 removable Suez searchlight will be installed.

Installation of an Integrated Communication System (ICS), consisting of: 1 public address system with loudspeakers installed all over the vessel for background music, calls and general warnings

A separate entertainment system with CD player, cassette recorder and amplifier/radio will be

installed in all bars/ lounges.

In addition to a terrestrial antenna system a satellite-TV antenna system will be installed for broadcasting 5

classification society and authorities for unmanned machinery spaces.

8750 Computerized Alarm, Monitoring And Control System (CAMAC)

A decentralized and hierarchically structured computer system with colour graphics will be

installed for monitoring and control of engines, propulsion auxiliaries and AC incl. power

management and antiheeling system.

Mimic displays of machinery and aux. systems including remote control of valves and pumps

will be installed.

Control of diesel engines and propeller pitch from the bridge, ECR and emergency stands.

For the diesel generator system a fully automatic control system for each busbar will be

installed including load dependent start and stop, advanced power reservation,

synchronizing, load sharing and black-out automation.

programmed.
