The RepamaxThe RepamaxHydraulic Gasket – Mode of operation: Hydraulic Gasket – Mode of operation:

A – Water flows into the center of the gasket, and past the fins located at the two ends of the rubber gasket, inflating them so that the fins become tightly pressed against the pipe. This creates the hydraulic seal.

B – Mechanical sealing is created by the bolts that fasten the body of the Repamax to the rubber gasket surface, pressing it against the pipe. This provides effective sealing in cases where there is no pressure in the pipe for inflating the hydraulic fins .

Page 7: Krausz_Final_ENG - all downloaded from CD on 13.1.2009

THE REPAMAXTHE REPAMAXHydraulic gasket – Mode of operation:

The hydraulic system provides added value beyond connection and sealing. Through the hydraulic fins, the Repamax can absorb ground shifts caused by

changes in weather or resulting from earthquake.

The fins move up and down with the pipe, so that the Repamax doesn’t “lock” onto the pipe after closing. This action provides the entire pipeline with flexibility, and reduces further cracking and breaking along the line in the future.

crops or infrastructure.

Page 10: Krausz_Final_ENG - all downloaded from CD on 13.1.2009

THE REPAMAXTHE REPAMAX• Repamax opens, so that for sealing holes, there is no need to cut the

pipe. Instead, Repamax wraps around the pipe, thereby repairing it.

Choosing the right Repamax to suit your needs:

• Measure the external circumference of the pipe in mm.• Divide the result by 3.14 (Pi) to find the diameter.• Look on the charts to see which Repamax suits the required diameter.• Decide on the width of the Repamax based on the required area to be

covered.

EZ-MAXEZ-MAX

Page 22: Krausz_Final_ENG - all downloaded from CD on 13.1.2009

THE EZ-MAXTHE EZ-MAX EZ-MAX was designed to seal holes in pipes. EZ-MAX is the only clamp that allows a range of 20mm. Available in 4 sizes: 150mm, 225mm, 300mm and 600mm. Suitable for diameters from 1.5” up to 12” as standard, and larger sizes may

be ordered. No need to cut the pipe. EZ-MAX opens and wraps itself around the pipe. Made of stainless steel (including bolts and nuts) with one-fold no-weld

construction, giving it extra corrosion protection. EZ-MAX, using a flat sealing system (product of Krausz or other), is sometimes

mistakenly used for joining 2 pipes. This is unadvisable since a flat seal, as opposed to hydraulic fins, cannot absorb ground shifts which may cause it to leak.

Page 23: Krausz_Final_ENG - all downloaded from CD on 13.1.2009

TAPMAXTAPMAXFor polyethylene and PVC pipingFor polyethylene and PVC piping

• TAPMAX is designed for installing an outlet on a pipe with no need for electric fusion and no cutting of the pipe which would weaken it.

• TAPMAX opens and wraps around the pipe, and only afterwards the outlet is drilled through the TAPMAX (see picture).

• This system allows for quick installation at relatively low cost.• The clamp is made of 316 stainless steel, for high durability against corrosion.• Can be ordered in sizes from 110mm-170mm as standard, in a range of threaded

or flanged outlets.

HYMAXHYMAX• Applications:

Joining two pipes of equal diameter, but with different external circumferences (usually of different materials, such as connecting an asbestos pipe with a steel or PVC pipe).

To fully appreciate the unique innovation of the Krausz HYMAX, you only need to compare it with the old system:

Page 26: Krausz_Final_ENG - all downloaded from CD on 13.1.2009

The old system:The old system: The connector is made of 4

main parts:1) Cone-shaped O-rings2) Main body3) Cone-shaped gaskets4) Galvanized bolts

Tightening the bolts causes the O-rings to tighten against the cone-shaped gasket and against the pipe, thereby “locking” the connector against the pipe. (This makes the connector unable to absorb vertical and axial shifts and vibrations caused by weather changes or mild earthquake.)

The connector is typically very heavy, and the larger it is, the larger the number of bolts it requires. This requires extensive aligning and lengthy installation time.

HYMAX by Krausz HYMAX by Krausz Unique mode of operationUnique mode of operation

1. The HYMAX detachable, double-layer, hydraulic gasket allows the detaching of one layer of the gasket which makes room for a pipe with larger outer circumference. In the case of a pipe with a small outer circumference, the gasket is not detached. The pipe is simply inserted and the screw tightened. The first level of sealing is accomplished by tightening the screw, which fastens the O-ring around the gasket, pressing it against the pipe. The second level of sealing is accomplished through the water pressure’s activation of the gasket hydraulics.

Page 30: Krausz_Final_ENG - all downloaded from CD on 13.1.2009

HYMAX by Krausz HYMAX by Krausz Unique mode of operationUnique mode of operation

2. The hydraulic fins allow for the absorption of vertical and axial ground movement resulting from weather changes or mild earthquakes.

3. HYMAX has one tightening screw in each O-ring (2 bolts for large diameters). This makes installation work far quicker and easier, with no need to tighten large numbers of bolts and alignments.

Page 31: Krausz_Final_ENG - all downloaded from CD on 13.1.2009

HYMAX by Krausz HYMAX by Krausz Unique mode of operationUnique mode of operation

4. A 12” HYMAX is capable of bridging between pipes of different materials with up to a 32mm difference in external circumferences. The HYMAX 14” bridging capability is unique for up to 54mm and represents a significant advantage for lower inventory requirements – one Krausz connector covers the entire range needed, as opposed to other manufacturers that require purchase of 2 to 3 connectors to cover the same range.

5. HYMAX is lightweight, requiring only one worker for easy installation, with no need for lifting heavy weights.

Unique and innovative, Krausz multi-diameter products are in high demand in the international marketplace – we account for 30% of the American market for this product.

SMAX JOINTSMAX JOINT

Detachable, double-layer hydraulic gasket:The sealing fins are pressure-fastened to the pipe wall by water pressure, preventing any leakage of water from the SMAX JOINT.•Sealing B:By tightening bolts, the flange is locked against the gasket and they are both pressed against the pipe wall. When using a coated pipe, the detachable double-layer hydraulic gasket avoids the need for removal of the coating, as was necessary in the old systems. The pipe is thereby protected against corrosion. To accomplish this, the inner rubber gasket layer is removed, making room for the coated pipe with larger external circumference.
