KONE Classic

The KONE Classic elevator is designedfor a smooth, comfortable, safe ridein mid-rise buildings, with a maximumtravel of 50 meters and a maximumload of 1360 kg. It operates with theFull Collective Control System.

With Full Collective Control, theelevator collects the landing calls whentraveling in both up and down direc-tions, making it an ideal solution forthe traffic patterns in apartments wheretravel between floors is considerable.

KONE Classic LX

The KONE Classic LX elevator isdesigned for a smooth, comfortable,safe ride in low-rise buildings, witha maximum travel of 35 meters anda maximum load of 884 kg. It operateswith the Down Collective ControlSystem.

With Down Collective Control, theelevator collects the landing calls onlywhen traveling in the down direction,making it an ideal solution for thetraffic patterns in apartments wheretravel between floors is limited.

The ergonomicdesign of the car operating panels,hall lantern indicators and landing callstations make these panels and signalseasy to read and easy to use.

KONE Classic and KONE Classic LXelevators also include a range of usefulexclusive features as standard withoutextra cost to provide additional passen-ger safety and comfort. Other optionalfeatures are available to meet variousbuilding needs.

KONE’s leading-edge technology

KONE Classic and KONE Classic LXpassenger elevators incorporate thelatest technology to provide the utmostreliability and affordability. They arebased on the latest Variable VoltageVariable Frequency (V3F) drives design-ed exclusively for elevator applications.V3F drives result in good ride comfortwith 50% energy savings compared toconventional two-speed elevators.

Less energy consumption and betteraccuracy of control are importantfeatures of the V3F drive. These benefitsare achieved by optimizing the motorcurrent (keeping the voltage/frequencyratio constant) and controlling thedeceleration, unlike in two-speedelevators.

Standard Features

KONE offers a constant voltage trans-former to mitigate perennial power supplyproblems with low and high voltage withfaulty neutral. This is available as a standardfeature in Classic LX and Classic elevators.

An inverter-based battery operated caremergency light is a standard feature.

A full-height infrared curtain of lightis a standard safety feature. A door pressurelimit switch is provided as an additionaldoor safety feature.

The car’s fan switch with auto fan off is anenergy-saving feature.

A door open button is provided to openthe door when needed, before the elevatorstarts moving.

A door close button allows the door to beclosed for a call, which shortens the normaldwell time and improves the interval duringnon-peak hours.

Attendant operation by a key operatedswitch in the car is another standard feature.

Elevator announcement system with orwithout time and temperature indicationfor KONE Classic

Load weighing device with indicator forKONE Classic LX and indicator or bypassfunction for KONE Classic. The bypassfunction enables the fully loaded elevatorto bypass the landing calls, thereby redu-cing travel time and energy consumption.

KONE Rescue Device (KRD): In the case of power failure or elevator control systemfailure, this battery-operated automaticrescue device brings the elevator to thenearest floor, enabling safe exit ofpassengers.

An intercom enables two-way communi-cation between the machine-room and a hands-free intercom in the elevator car.EPBAX type communication system betweenelevator cabin and multiple locations suchas security/lobby is also an option forKONE Classic.

Fireman drive brings the car to the mainfloor immediately after the fire switch isoperated, enabling control by the fireman.

Signalizations are available that matchthe elevator’s interior.

For the painted steel car body, thestandard signalization is a 7-segmentdisplay with red/amber colored buttonsin the landing stations. The caroperating panel comes with red/ambercolored buttons.

For the stainless steel car body, thelanding panel comes with a choice ofred or amber colored buttons with avariety of buttons. A full height caroperating panel is available as anoption.

Attractive scrolling dot matrixindicators are options in KONE Classic.

Hall lantern with gong is an option forKONE Classic.

KONE Classic and KONE Classic LX planning guide

This planning guide gives you the dimensions of the elevator cars and theirshafts to help you select the configuration that matches specified capacities, fitsin with available space, and is compatible with your building’s design.

The dimensions of the elevator shaftsinclude entrance height, car interiorheight, pit depth, maximum travel andheadroom. The table indicates differentconfigurations offered for the elevatorcars and their shafts. Loads range from4 persons or 272 kg to 20 persons or1360 kg. Based on your space require-ments and specific loads, you canchoose the configuration most suitedto your needs.

These elevators can be arranged ingroups of two elevators for maximumtraffic flow between floors. KONE cananalyze the traffic conditions in yourbuilding and recommend the optimumelevator configuration. For more detailsplease contact our sales engineers.
