TESTING AND ADJUSTING TRANSMISSION POWER SHIFT

    GD530/650/67012

    TRANSMISSION POWER SHIFT

    VOLTAGE AND ELECTRICAL POWER REQUIREMENTS

Throughout this procedure, it is assumed that all wires are in good condition. As tests are made, it isadvisable to inspect the wires for wear and/or abrasions that would short the circuit. Wires mayhave internal breaks, which can only be detected by use of an ohmmeter or similar device. Theelectrical wires are numbered with bands at each end to help trace them. Ensure the terminal endsare crimped solidly, screws are tight, and that contact surfaces are not corroded. Replace ifnecessary.

To troubleshoot the valve.s electrical circuit, the chart below shows when each solenoid is activeand during which gear.

. Solenoid #1 is for 1st gear clutch.

. Solenoid #2 is for 2nd gear clutch.

. Solenoid #3 is for 3rd gear clutch.

. Solenoid #4 is for reverse gear clutch.

. Solenoid #5 is for high range clutch.

. Solenoid #6 is for low range clutch.

NOTE: The engine must be running for the valves to be energized. Use a voltmeter to determine if

    the solenoid is energized.
