THE KOGOD HISTORY Founded in 1955 as the first university-level business school in Washington, D.C., the school is named for its benefactors, Robert and Arlene Kogod. CAN

KOGODCHANGE WHAT

YOU KNOW ABOUT

BUSINESS?

American University’s students are world conscious citizens who care as much about the means to success as success itself. And they define success in a variety of ways. It’s not just about scoring a seat in the executive suite—it’s about contributing meaningful change at any level of an organization, and leaving things better than they found them as they advance in their careers. Many of our students aspire to work at the World Bank, the United Nations, the State Department, and other organizations whose impact in our increasingly connected global economy is felt more immediately, more broadly, and with more intensity than ever before. They come to Kogod for the skills they need to do well in their careers, but they can also see beyond the bottom line. If you want to make it your business to leave a better world in your wake, Kogod will help you chart your course.

YOU KNOW THE RIGHT

PLACEAT THE RIGHT TIME

Let’s be honest. Part of the reason you’re considering American University and Kogod is the unbeatable location in the United States’ capital. Washington, D.C., is one of the most dynamic, influential, and stimulating cities in the world, unique in its intersection of government and business. D.C. attracts the brightest and wonkiest minds in everything from public policy to banking to international business, and many of them can be found, on any given day, right on AU’s campus. We make the most of our location and our community, collaborating with the experts who come to Washington to work on the world’s most significant challenges. Our students learn about the process—and the progress—as they happen in real time.

D.C.’s many attractions and national treasures offer students unlimited opportunities to explore, enjoy, and expand their knowledge of this nation’s history and influence. The city is multicultural in the extreme, teeming with a vibrant diversity and international sensibility. Yet, for a city with so much to offer, D.C. is surprisingly compact and easy to navigate. The business and government districts, sightseeing highlights, neighborhoods, restaurants, and nightlife are all easily accessible via the city’s central Metrorail system. Just hop on the Red Line—AU’s got its own stop—and go just about anywhere. Studying at AU offers the best of many worlds, for students who want to broaden theirs.
