Application to settlements in Okushiri Island destroyed by tunami in 1983 and 1993.
Data synthesis and 3D archiving Data access and
reproducing
Since 1950’s, housing stock increased, and also their service life time has become longer. Consequently, market of second hand house is extending. Quality control (safety, energy, etc.) of old houses is a new social demand.
Housing Stock and Service Life Time Importance of Subscribing Records, as Housing Policy Issue
Short life of Digital Data: Reality in Last Decades
Organizations keep permanent data
Role of Virtual Converter: metafile compiler
Electronic Recording Board
Data Conversion and Storage on Server Diachronic Use of 3D data
•History of initial construction and later alteration.•Important attributes related to the value of asset.•Specification and performance indexes.•Structure and material of invisible parts.-------------------------------------------------------------------The question is: ‘How IT can support the preservation of such data and information for the lifetime (over 100 years) ?’.

Lib1 ‘Munafuda’ is a pentagonal timber plate recording a building’s basic data and attached to the lower side of the highest beam of the building. Alternative long-life recording materials are alternatively proposed for future. Data file, metafile and ID to the virtual converter used is recorded in the digital recording area, and kept safely without energy consumption.

Requested Data
Case of Hokkaido Building Guidance Center: providing service to keep data of qualified houses, using 3 CD-Rs which are kept at the center, the client and the contractor, that must be replaced every 10 years. Also, data center is used to keep the same data.
