Examples of Industry Sector Subdivision Outlooks

The next five years are expected to expose the IT Security Consulting industry to new avenues of growth. Large corporations are progressively moving their security operations in-house to save money, and because consultants themselves can be categorised as security risks. Technological improvements are expected to lead to gaps in security infrastructure, forcing businesses to make security a higher priority. The National Broadband Network, for instance, will create a greater incentive for businesses to rely on cloud computing facilities. Organised groups of hackers are launching increasingly sophisticated attacks against large corporations, whether for political purposes or general malicious intent. Consequently, the industry services will continue to be relevant

Pollution Testing Services in Australia - Steady future growth is expected across the industry due to continued stable demand for pollution testing and monitoring services. Despite the potential repeal of the carbon tax resulting in reduced carbon dioxide testing, which would reduce industry services, it is likely that an alternative scheme will be implemented that will require similar services. With stronger economic growth expected in future years, pollution testing demand from the manufacturing, construction, agriculture and wastewater sectors are forecast to drive industry growth.

The Health Services subdivision is expected to continue its strong growth over the next five years due to Australia's growing and ageing population, the increasing prevalence of chronic disease and private health insurance coverage growth. While general hospitals are expected to contribute much of the subdivision's growth as they benefit from the ageing population and rising chronic disease rates, other allied health services that derive their revenue from private health benefits will continue to be boosted by growth in private health insurance coverage.
