Topic
It can be hard to think of something to talk about especially when you are broadcasting on a regular basis.
Pick something that you know about and feel comfortable talking about because you will be live and people will ask you questions.
Headline/Title
Have a headline that connects with potential viewers and draws them into your broadcast.
Touching on pain points or problems followed by the solution is a fantastic way to get people’s attention.
Emojis are also great for drawing people’s attention also but beware. Too many random emojis will make you look tacky.

Microphone/sound quality
The sound quality is very important. You will Aind that people will forgive you for bad video but bad sound quality is another story.
A lapel mic for periscope is fantastic and for blab earphones with a build in mic are fantastic for not only sound quality but to eliminate the echo of the other people talking.
Lighting
You need to be seen, good lighting will not only allow people to see you but to give you a more professional look. If you are inside use lighting that allows you to be seen clearly.
If you are outside try not to stare into direct sunlight or you will not be able to read comments and you will squint.
Background
What is seen behind you in your broadcasts is important. You can use it to promote your business or to set the mood for your broadcast.
Image (hair/makeup/clothes)
You can just be yourself when you are broadcasting. If people want to connect with you and you have a great message to share they will listen to you regardless of what you are wearing.
However think about the image you want to have in the public eye and what makes you feel happy. Whatever you choose make sure that you are authentic and consistent.
Notes
It is easy to get talking on a broadcast and completely lose track of what you were going to say or forget to bring up an important point. Notes are a must in order to make sure you deliver the value that you promised in your title and topic.
DON’T try to write it all out. There is nothing worse than someone just reading notes. Have key points and then allow the conversation to evolve. It is “social media” after all.
Camera angles
Let’s face it we all look better from certain angles and not from others. No one wants to look up your nose the whole time so please set up your phone in the camera mode before you go live to check what angle suits you best.
I prefer my camera to be up high tilted down to not only make my face look thinner but so that I am also looking up when I speak to people not looking down on them. It also allows you to easily read the comments that people leave. It is the interaction that will have them sticking around longer to get to know you and build the relationship.
Stand
If you are using your phone or mobile device to broadcast a stand or tripod is a must. Not only with this allow you to be hands free but it also allows you to set up and be consistent throughout your entire broadcast.
Call to action
Do you want your viewers to do something? For example “like” your Facebook page or signup for a free gift? If so you need to have a call to action with every broadcast.
Cue cards
Cue cards can be valuable on live broadcasts for a number of reasons.
•They can show people the web address that you want them to visit, •They can promote a person, •Product or service •Which a longer broadcasts they can represent where a different piece of information begins.
What ever you use them for they are great to get your information across and if you want people to remember that information on the card make sure you tell them to take a screen shot.
Signs
If you are broadcasting in the landscape mode or further away from the screen there is room to have signs to promote your business behind you.
Bio
Your bio is a very valuable piece of real-‐estate. This is where you introduce yourself and how you can help them. It let’s them know why they would want to listen to you. This is very important for you whether you are broadcasting or simple watching others.
Make it simple, clear, engaging and if you can add a call to action including a link to your website. Simple things make the biggest difference.
ConNidence
This is one thing that can be a little tricky but you need to take a deep breath and believe that you belong there in front of the camera.
We all suffer from doubt and being harsh on ourselves but you can simply set that aside if you “Why” is big enough. The more broadcasting you do the easier it gets.
You have a story, message and need to make a difference so to get that out into the world we may need to fake a bit of conAidence before it feels natural to you.
Knowledge of technology
Going live can be really easy once you know how to use the technology. Grab a simple guide and give it a whirl. If it is the Airst time you use it make sure that you give it a practice run before you put your best effort forward. Get familiar with the buttons and the information that you need in order to make it one less thing off you mind when you really start building your presence with live broadcasting. Introduction
Having a clear and precise introduction is a must. You should be able to tell the people on your broadcast who you are, who you help and what they can expect from you. You will need to repeat this many times (sometimes even multiple times per broadcast) so if you don’t have it clear in a way you can remember it and be remembered for it. You must do this before you start.
Share CTA (call to action)
The best way to get people to your broadcast is by asking people to share or to invite their followers. This is like a third party endorsement of you and what you have to offer. If someone likes your message then they will want their followers to share and if those followers trust them they will come. Most people will not do this on their own so you have to remind them and make sure you thank them for it.
Follow CTA (call to action)
If someone new comes on your broadcast you want to make sure they follow you or once they leave they may forget who you are and the great value you have to offer. Just like the share CTA, you have to remind them and ask.
Something simple like “If you are enjoying this broadcast please make sure your are following me so I can bring more quality information to you
Props CTA (call to action)
Sometimes we can doubt if the information we are bringing is actually being understood and appreciated. One of the ways you can do this is by getting hearts on periscope and high Aives on blab.
Just like with everything else if you want it you will have to ask!!!
A simple “If you like what you are hearing, please hit the hearts to let me know” or just a thankyou to those who are doing what you want them to do. The rest will follow because they want to make you happy too.
Katch
Periscope broadcasts expire after 24 hours so it is good to have a backup just in case you want to keep them. You can have this by signing up to http://katch.me and linking it with you periscope account. This allows you to keep your broadcast available long past 24 hours.
*note: if there is a broadcast you want to never see the light of day again make sure you delete it from you katch account as well as your periscope account.
Fullscope
Having analytics to track the activity on your periscope broadcasts helps you also to see what is working and what needs improving. It is also a helpful tool for you to use to follow up with the people who have spent time on your live broadcasts.
To get you free account visit http://fullscope.tv
Press Record
It is a very simple thing that can be easily over looked. Periscope automatically records your broadcasts however blab requires you to press record.
Support
It can be very scary starting out with LIVE broadcasting. Having a support system to help you to embrace your fears and do it anyway is a must have. Joining groups like Perigirls or Peridudes can really help you.
You can also tell some of your favourite broadcasters or the friends you have made that you will be going live and you will be amazed at the support that is available to you.
Your Message & Story This is your chance to share your story and your message. Know what your purpose is and what you want to set your broadcasts up to achieve is not necessary but is a fantastic thing if you are in this for the long run.
Final thoughts…
Be the type of broadcaster that you like to spend time with. If you want people to leave hearts and interact with you, do that with other people. There are many ways to stand out without being live, just make sure you are using your time in the best way possible because it is the one thing that you can never get back.
I look forward to seeing you LIVE and hearing your message!!
Hello. I have created this book to help you create a Supercast!!
It is up to you to don your cape and take action. If you have any questions at all please contact me. I want to hear them no matter how silly you feel they are.
