Knights shield

1

Print 2 halves of

the shield tem-

plates and the

emblem designs that

you want to decorate

your shield. Your em-

blems can be printed

on coloured papers.

2Stick both

halves of the

sheild together.

Lightly glue to the back

of your metalic card-

board. Cut out your

shield shape, leaving

enough card to make

your handle strap later.

3Cut out stripes

of coloured

paper about 1

cm wide if you would

like to decorate your

shield with divisions as

show here.

4Cut out you em-

blems carefully

using the grey

guidelines. Older craft-

ers may want to cut out

in more detail. Arrange

and stick down your

emblems and decora-

tions.

5Cut out a band

of silver card

about 3cm wideand 23cm long. Staple

it to the back of your

shield from side to side.

This handle will bend

your shield to a nice

curve.

Things you need:40x40cm sheet of gold or silver cardboard

templates printed outs (on white or coloured paper)

stick or paper glue

scissors

ruler

stapler

sticky tape

Optional decoration:

plastic jewels

2 or 3 strips of coloured card 1cm x 35cm

6Stick some

sticky tape over

the staple ends

to stop them getting

caught or scratching.

Team your shield with asword, helmet and tunic

to make a knights cos-

tume.
