• No joint in the body is more affected by overuse injuries that the knee

Treatment:
• Overuse injuries respond well to REST• Activity modification• Short term anti-inflammatory agents• Ice• Stretching
Treatment:• OK to resume normal activities once the
symptoms resolve• Return to play varies (chronicity)
SUMMARY:
• Overuse injuries occur because of repetitive stress
• Kids are uniquely predisposed to these problems
• Knee is most commonly affected joint• These injuries respond well to rest • Early treatment can shorten recovery time
